Buying a CPO, need some advice
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy a preowned car and have decided on an 09 or 10 g37x. Ive been searching all over NJ for the perfect one (blue slate, sunroof, premium and nav packages, black interior, dark wood if possible), and found a few about an hour and a half from me. One is an 09 with 44,000 miles with all of the above, the other is an 09 with 16,000 miles minus the wood, and listed 5,000 dollars more. I wanted your opinions on which you would get, and if not having wood would make it a 'deal breaker' for you. also, im wondering if the 16000 miles were from someone leasing with a short commute, or was it a loner car, and if i should be worried about that? the one with less miles is also an 's', which i wasnt looking for as it doesnt help as much on the awd version, but im not complaining
also, they both are CPO, so does that mean any infiniti dealer would service under the warranty? or would i have to travel all that way when i bring it in. because there is a very reputable dealer 5 min from me, but they dont have anything close to what i want (and havent for the past 3 weeks that ive been looking)
and from what i understand, there isnt too much difference in the 10's, and im having a hard time finding them since the leases arent up yet. from what i read the 09s will not charge iphones from the plug in? and the 10's may have fixed the shifting issues. any reason why i should shy away from the 09?
thanks in advance

CPO is a marketing tool first and foremost. Dealerships pay for CPO, something like $800 per car, and it gives them a greater range to list the car with the corporate website. It has nothing to do with warranty. Whether or not dealerships buy into CPO varies on their mark-up and turn-over. Some see it as a sales benefit, and some see it as an expense they could be "saving" the customer... which is also just marketing. Either way, it has little to do with the actual value of the car.
The Sedan xS still gets you staggered 18" rims, and truly excellent sport seats, but you're right, that's about all you get out of the S-package when coupled with AWD.

Thanks for the info everyone! Unfortunately the s already has a payment down on it so it's probably sold. The x is currently available and if it still is Monday when I get down there I will be driving back with it!
