Looking for Surfboard Hard Rack for a G37 Sedan
Hi all,
pretty new to this forum here, and love all the stuff I am reading! I just purchased a new 2012 G37 sedan more than a week ago, and came across this site while searching around for G stuff.
One thing that I am still looking for is a hard roof rack that can carry my surfboards. I was looking around the forum and have not seen a recent post regarding this topic, and was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation on specific models (Thule, Yakima, etc) for the 2012 G37 sedan.
I don't care about carrying snowboards or bikes, just surfboards( lengths ranging from 5'10" to no more than 9")
Thanks!

That 9' is killing you. I just put towels over the passenger seat, recline it, and lay my board on that. But then again, I only have a 5'10" and a 6'2".
Here's an 09 with a roof rack.

Ha, surfjax87, that's exactly what I am already doing right now! I let my 6"1' ride shotgun with me with towels.
But it is just that I wont be able to carry any bros to go with me unless they sit under those boards in the backseats lol.
I mostly use my 6"1' these days, so I wont have to worry about using the longs.
But thanks for the link, looks like the Thule 480R is the way to go.

Check out the Yakimas too. I hear they are nice. Some guys here and at G35driver use them as well as Thule.

Cool, so it looks like the Yakima option is going to be the WaveHog that looks significantly cheaper than the Thule 480R. Does anyone have any experience with either of the two and why they would prefer one to the other?
Also, which of the two is easier to set up and remove. I am trying to find a rack if possible, that I can only set it up if needed
Thanks!

The yakmia site doesn't return anything that will hold a surf board on top for the 09 sedan. I'm facing the same issue here in Hawaii. I've got a 7'2" board with out a way to transport it on the G.
