This is what's in today's $1,250 Technology Package on the G37 Sedan:
  • Intelligent Cruise Control
  • Brake Assist with Preview Braking
  • Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) with auto recirculation and Plasmacluster™ air purifier
  • Rain-sensing, variable intermittent front windshield wipers
  • Front-seat Pre-Crash Seat Belts

Seems to me to be mostly about safety (silly ACCS), and should probably be on all Infiniti's as standard equipment.

Actually, looking at this list, the only things worthwhile (IMO) are Brake Assist and the advanced seat belt tech.

Come on now...who doesn't want/need a Plasmacluster™ air purifier.

Is that the thing they advertise with the M, where variable gusts of air are coming out of the vents like a gentle woodland breeze?

Stupid marketing aholes. I just want a car with power, handling and a stick-shift. The only virtual reality experience I want is to pretend Racecar. Period. All these other "luxury" gizmos in my G37, I could care less. Certainly not going to rip out my Nav, music box, back-up camera, etc. But they are hardly the benchmark for what has to be on my car. It came with all that junk, so be it.

I had the equivalent on my BMW, it was a great feature as it manage the air quality inside the cabin.

I've had my '11 G for a little more than a year and a half, and it's paid for. I had the '04 G before that for 6 years.

I'm not even thinking about a new car. Well... I think about cars, as I am sure most of us do, but I won't be seriously thinking about my next purchase for at least a few years, unless I wreck this one.

I agree that the most worthwhile items on that list are the brake assist and pre-crash seat belts and should be standard equipment but I wouldn't mind having the rest of them as part of technology/safety package. The 2009 technology package didn't have brake assist or ACCS but did have adaptive headlights which is not available in the 2012 technology package. I already miss the adaptive headlights when I'm driving through winding roads in unlit rural areas like where my parents live.

I work for a Japanese company and sometimes the decisions made by management aren't logical. I would like to know the decision making process that goes into to determining what features are put on Nissans (such as turn signal markers on the sideview mirrors) and not on Infinitis, which features are standard and which are optional and what features are added and removed from option packages.

I'd just like some air conditioned seats, mirror turn signals (or at least the fender ones), and folding power mirrors. Adaptive suspension option would be really nice for the sport package as well.

Agreed. And a heated steering wheel. How hard would that have been?

I'd also like options on the computer voice, like Sexy Australian. That would be cool.

An adjustable suspension would be cool for the family, but I'd probably leave it on Sport Mode 99.9% of the time anyway, so it would mostly be lost on me, and likely every other 6MT Sedan owner out there.

^^I have coil overs... my car handles like a dream, but the ride is a little rough. I like it that way. If my wife wants a luxurious ride she can follow me in her Lexus. HA!

Such as Hugh Jackman or perhaps Keith Urban?

+1. I have the heated steering wheel on the A6, and let me tell you, it's pretty nice in the California winter. But seriously, it gets cold enough where the heated steering wheel comes in handy here. I turn it on when it drops down to the low 40s.

If the wife actually drove the G, then sure... once in a while. I'm not proud.

But I was thinking more along the lines of Olivia Newton John or Nicole Kidman.

Probably a nice reliable car for the money. But that is where it ends for me.

So it has served it's purpose then. I don't think the Altima is meant to be a luxury car.

A/C seats would be really nice. I had them on my 2006 M45 and they were great in the summer. The folding power mirrors would be great too. Isn't that standard on the BMW 3 series?
