any idea how much it'll cost to fix this?

about a week or so ago I was backing out my G out of a parking lot and this girl decided to back her car up while I was half way out and tapped my bumper..

I am trying to get it fixed before this Saturday and I was wondering what you guys thought about the extensiveness of the damage...

Bumper looks creased/dented? If so, that probably needs bodno work or a new bumper from my understanding...

What's the insurance's verdict on this? Sounds like her fault?

Nope no dent just through clear coat and color and scratched up.

Is it possible to just have someone paint a portion of a bumper?

and no insurance verdict on this, girl didn't have insurance so I thought about covering it myself.

Ohs I see thats good! Couldn't tell from the picture! Painting a small spot is possible. But it really depends how good of a painter the guy you bring it to is. They'll have to blend it real well.

try using some rubbing compound or Meguires scratch x. Or Nu Finish scratch remover. If those don't work, then you might need more or even repaint.

u need to repaint the whole rear bumper if u want same old accurate look ! coz if u jst paint the scratched portion, it will be noticeable in the time to come when u give her couple of washes !

I'd get it checked out by a body shop and ask for an estimate before deciding to cover it yourself, there could be more hidden damage than you think lurking under the cover. I took some meguires ultimate compound and buffed my girlfriends car for about 30 mins and it came out looking like new, pretty similar looking damage to the paint, she had 2 creases though I managed to improve, but it really needs some bondo/ paint.

before:

after:

no real damage to my truck (what she hit), small scratches were already there, just a little indent on the black plastic:

Edit: pics won't work, but if you click on the X it should take you to my Flickr page and you can see

Get a couple of referrals from trusted sources who have had paint work done on their cars. Don't skimp on this, and don't try to do it yourself, else you will never be happy with the result.
