It would be better to wrap the car than plastidip the damn thing. WHY!? You have a very clean sedan. You should keep it that way.

$1200, sounds pretty high for something that can be scraped off w/ a fingernail, maybe they've got a process that makes the end result a bit more "final". For half that you can get the vinyl, sure you'd have to wrap it yourself, but it's not hard to do.

OK I just saw this. If you do this Q, I will find you. I will smash every body panel on your car individually. Then I'll slash all 4 tires. Then, I smash out all the windows. Then I'll go back and get all the body panels again in case I missed some spots. Then I'll burn it to the ground with fire. Then I'll pee on it. Then I'll go home and make myself a sandwich. Then after I've watched the latest episode of Eastbound and Down that I have DVR'd, I'll probably come back and do it all again. Then I'll go to bed because I have to work early the next day.

Actually I probably won't really do any of this. But I'd like to.

Please explain what's wrong with Plastidip besides the fact that it's cheap and easily removable... And please don't use the "it doesn't look as good as paint" line, we all know that but it's less than 1/20th (basing this price off of a $4000 paint job which is low for a quality matte paint job in NY vs the package from dipyourcar) the price and if the person knows how to use a rattle can it can come out looking nearly as good as paint. Plastidip will hold up better than any paint as far as rock chips, scratches, acid rain, etc. So please explain, unless you're just another one of the Plastidip haters.

Well, run a fingernail into plastidip and see what happens, the paint will just peel away. Might be good if you want to pull a bank job then change your car back to the original color, but long term I have serious doubts. Also how in the hell will you clean the stuff. I've got plastidip on just my grill and there's really no way to remove bug debris or any serious dirt very easily. towels stick to it like velcro so even drying the stuff will be a challenge. I'm looking forward to the end result and hope it's better than what I expect, we'll see................

Q, i sprayed my roof once for testing. It looks fine from a distance and only at certain angles.

However, you are using a spray gun so it should lay flat and even. Just be sure to mask properly and take the tape off before things start drying otherwise the PD will peel along with the tape.

You can, however, score it with an Xacto after things dry, or try using a bladeless knife.

Good luck!
