New V6 engine from Nissan/Infiniti
According to Andy Palmer, Nissan's VP of product development:
"Mr Palmer also revealed that Nissan was working on a new petrol V6 – probably a replacement for the acclaimed VQ V6 used in a wide range of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles"

The 2014 G sedan should be quite interesting...

I thought I read some where that Nissan will be sharing engines with Mercedes. Maybe putting 4 cylinder engines into the G. I believe Nissan has already agreed to build Mercedes engines in their US plants. I'll have to find the article.

Very interesting. Nissan knows it needs to do something or else the competition will run over them. This delay, cited by one of the articles, is the reason Infiniti is/was having very good deals I think.

In fact the optima could compete for g buyers.

The manual transmission is ok, but the clutch is hard to operate smoothly, and something needs to be done about the shifter vibration to make it feel more refined.

The optima gives you lots of creature comforts. In fact, there's a few more bells and whistles than the G. Mirror mounted turn signals, interior illumination as you approach the car, heated rear seats, fans in the front seats that cool when the ac is on, and probably a few others. However, what is lacking is the whole driving experience. The car is numb to drive, has poor road feedback, car wanders all over the place, etc. Take one for a real test drive, then draw your own conclusion. I had one (2011 turbo) for over 5K miles.

But for someone that wants a car loaded with goodies for under $30,000, it's not bad. Same with the Hyundai Sonota...it's almost the same car.
