I am a G owner but I have to admit the 335i is the superior car when it comes to performance. Take a bare bones G37 vs a bare bones 335i. The 335i will be faster. When it comes to interior look and feel, thats subjective. The 335i does cost more but is a more refined machine than the G. As far as the comparison is concerned, they were right to put the G25 vs the 328 because the G37 competes with 335i.
As far as options and pricing are concerned, the reason you can get the 328 up to 50K is because they offer options that can drive the price up. The G25 simply doesnt offer any options apart from the Journey package. Bang for the buck goes to Infiniti, but the superior car is still the 3 series.
I am neither a "fan" of Infiniti nor BMW. If cost was no option, given the two, I would go with BMW regardless of HPFP. And regardless of people say here on the forum, 99%(if not more) would pick the 335i over the G37 if they were giving them for free. Think about it, realisticly.

Your opinion obviously has nothing to back it up. G25 competes with 328? It depends on which generation of 328 you are talking about. G25 is the competitor of E90 328 when it was out not F30 328. Even the differences are not that clear anymore on F30 335 vs F30 328. F30 335 does have more power, but not much, 5.3s vs 5.8s, but handles worst. If you are on the market for a new 3, you might as well go with the 328 for a good reason. Now the G37 is against both, the only reason why G25 exists IMO is to lower the bar for those who want to buy into entry luxury.
Why in the world people would buy a bare bone luxury car? "Badge chaser", anyone? It ONLY make sense when comparing cars with similar equipped-level.
You do have that mindset in you, and it is apparent along the lines. Not everyone would lock on badges over everything else, considering cost of ownership, practicality, personal taste, etc. Yes, I would take a FULLY loaded 335 over a FULLY loaded G37 as the 335 is more expensive, so I could sell it to badge chasers for more money.

I know a few people who want the performance of the 335 without the upscale items. BMW lets you equip a car that way, Infiniti doesn't.
Besides, when you are seeing tail lights of the 335 does it really matter if the BMW has leather? In addition, BMW is happy to sell it's cars to all badge chasers, you can be sure they don't care.

So how does the G compares to the IS250 or 350?
Last I heard the IS350 is a little bit faster on the straight, with the best record for reliability. Arguably better styling.

I then moved on to comparing the G and BMW 3 series before buying the G.

I will take a RWD over FWD any day. Let alone the G looks 10 times better than an Altima.

Yup, the S4 is a nice car, but too bad it is a front biased AWD which kills it for me. Just had my hands on the CD's Apr issue which includes a road test on the F30 335. Looks like BMW is killing 335 for the sales of 328. On 4 major categories, the 335 lags behind G37 on 3 of 4, and just claimed a small win to G37 on 1/4-mile.

Lets make sure we cherry pick the tests to support our unbiased conclusions.

All figures were from CD's test. If I took 335i's from CD, and G37's from MT, the result would be reversed, G37 would beat 335i by 0.3s to 60. Cherry pick results to make BMW looks better, huh? Enough said.

The numbers quoted in my post are from another website, you can find it I'm sure. But it doesn't really matter.
