Poor G :(

The residual value on the 335i should be better, there is at least $1,000 in maintenance costs on the G. The 335i is more fuel efficient, there is another $500 at least. That can salvage some of the 10K difference.
I priced out a 335i to 52k, it will have more than what the 2012 G37xS fully loaded @ $46k has. That's a 6k difference. I guess one could argue that a fair comparison is the 335xi, but I do not have pricing information on that.
0-60 in 4.7s, how many cars do that and how much are they priced at?

And I am sure this time they would not forget to bolt on an extra oil cooler on MT's for free.

I also thoroughly believe in never owning the first model year of a total redesign, give them time to work out the kinks for next year.
Either way, important part is I'm happy with my G and I feel like I got a great deal. It fits my needs and is still seems to impress people just as much as a BMW would when I tell them what I drive. I think the interesting match up will be when the G gets redesigned and how it competes, BMW set a high bar for sure, but we all know how mfgs like to one up each other.

I have seen conflict reports on the new 335, CD said it definitely slower than the older version which is 4.8 to 60 and the new one 5.3. Looks like BMW forgot to up the boost for CD's test car.

I agree mostly with the 8/10th of the performance..but I would say it's more like 9/10. The BMW is only really better in the power area, where that turbo and tunability is nice, but the G still out-handles and out-brakes based on the tests I've seen if you look at it that way.
And the price really is a big difference...with some negotiation getting a 335i with sport, nav, etc. is going to be $45k I got the G fully loaded for $38k, and IMO has a nicer interior, less bland.

I really enjoy the G, don't get me wrong. I would say the biggest issue is stop and go traffic.
Unlike my turbo Subaru where torque came on very fast, the G has to be revved, just in time to slam on the brakes. The Subaru had more get and go earlier on.
On the highway the G is a fantastic cruiser however.

I got a G25 as a loaner. Yes it's no G37, but I didn't expect it to be. If you know what you're getting in terms of a watered down version of the G37, the car was just fine. Very gas efficient too.

Because both Gs are basically the same car with different engines. The smaller engine has to be working harder hence less efficiency. Smaller engines do best on constant highway speed where variation of speed kept to the minimum. If you drive both G37 and 328 hard, there will not be much difference, despite the 328i has only 55% displacement of the G. It is simple physics, you just can't have extra power for free no matter how you make it.

we can pick apart these comparisons as much as we want, but for me, what really matters is the fact that for what I'm paying on my lease ($0 down), there isn't a car out there that I'd rather be driving.

The 335 comes with upgrade brakes that are bigger, or the same as the upgraded ones on the G.
Spanking on the street has nothing to do with the capabilities of the car. I can race people who don't know too!

Went from a 20 roll, 40 roll and 60 roll, took the 335 all 3 times. Ive also ran other 335s, taken them all. The G has better high end and more power, not too suprising.
Actually the G's brakes are 14" 4 piston up front, the 335 has 13.7" 1 piston, our rear brakes on the G are even bigger than the 335's front brakes hahaaa. And C&D overheated the factory pads, this happens on the 335 too. Second I don't spank them on the street, I also spank them on turns, since 335s have a understeering chassis, it's like a rwd honda to be honest. Alot of fanboys for a car that's not too great.
The G doesn't have better brakes. First of the brakes on the G are the same that had total failure in C&Ds testing twice.
