Ha! If I find a mug that works, I'll share so you can keep your G dry (and less suspicious). Here are a few products that state they are 2.75" in diameter, which may work:

Ironically enough my Sister got me an Infiniti coffee mug for Christmas the year I bought my car. There just normal tall coffee mugs with the Infiniti logo on them but they fit the cupholders perfectly and will not tip over unless the car turns over. I'm guessing there around $25 given the standard markup for accessories from Infiniti land but hey, it was a cool Christmas gift

It looks to be thinner at bottom than at top, which I think is necessary for these cup holders.

Spilled coffee on my khaki's on the way to work railing an onramp... It's as if they are only safe for soda cans, anything else always tips to the side on turns. BOOO!!!
