TinsleyC is correct. I usually fill up at Costco and it happens sometimes-not all the time. I usually lift the nozzel up a little bit and it seems to work fine. I have found that if I pump at half speed it usually works fine. This is NOT a big problem, in fact it's kinda fun taking more time to fill the tank, that way I have a chance to look around at the other folks checking out my beautiful black G37--and watching them drool. He He.

I have only had that problem at a Hess station. It has shut off prematurely several times at the same Hess station, but no where else. Not what I would call a serious problem.

First time tonight it happen to me at a Costco station in my 2012 G37. It was near empty and I started the pump and 4 gallons into it, it would click. Tried several times to start it back up but no luck. So I started my car and drive to the filling station in front since they have two on each side and still happen so I just got back into my car and drove off.
I might try putting it upside down in one of the older threads that was posted to see if this fixes it next time or go with a slower fill.

I had this situation on my 350 - if I remember correctly, the dealer ended up replacing a valve that resides between the tank and the fill tube.
On my daughter's Mazda3 - bad charcoal canister.
If none of the other suggestions work, bring it to the dealer and complain. I BELIEVE it is an emissions component (which maybe/might/possibly have a longer warranty than other non-emissions components)
Good Luck!
