Hi, folks,
One day, when my girlfriend was parking my car, she got too close to the car in the front. As result, she scratched my grille. Question is: how do i get rid of it? I already tried a little bit polish compound. Thanks folks!


Actually, there was also a little scratch on the paint on the bumper, but it was easily buffed out by polish compound.

i dont think you can get rid of the scratch on the OEM grille cause its a thin layer of paint on plastic. not sure though. i would just wait till it gets really banged up from road debris and get an aftermarket grille thats metal.

take it off, clean it really good with rubbing alcohol and hit it with a couple coats of Plastidip. thats what i did to mine and its holding up great. i taped off the top and bottom chrome part to add contrast though.

Its pretty straight forward. theres one of 2 ways to do it. i didnt feel like taking off my grille, (the nuts are back behind in the bumper and its a PITA if you dont have small hands. ) so i masked off the grille and surrounded it with newspaper to prevent overspray. i also taped off the infiniti logo in the middle. i used Rubbing alchohol and lots of towels to get the surface as clean as possible. Plastidip comes in in a spray can and you can get it at any autozone or probably home depot. Passing left to right (or the other way doesnt really matter) i put on about 3 even coats, waiting about 5 or so mins inbetween coats. gave it a good hour to dry, then peeled off the tape. be careful and take your time when doing this. it is liquid plastic, and some of it may have bonded to the tape, so its good to have a razor or something in the other hand to cut away the plastic if it starts to pull away. I did it about a year ago and its held up all sorts of rock debris and weather.


I also painted the rear chrome trunk finisher with it as well. added a nice contrast to the rear end with my rear Valiance from Bluebat.
