My coolant was also very low so I called the dealership. The advisor tells me that steam coming out of the front of the car when it rains or snows is fairly common on our cars because of the design of the radiator, these elements touch the front of the radiator and produce steam. In his opinion they should've placed a mesh in front of the radiator to stop this from happening but it's not a problem. The smell however which he said he also has seen a lot, is usually due to coolant "leaking" out of the top radiator hose because of the clamp not working properly. I snapped a couple of pictures of that hose connection, you can clearly see from the residue and the moisture pattern on the hose that coolant has been leaking from that connection. I have an appointment to get it fixed. I love my Infiniti dealership Service Dept!

I have a 2010 G37XS and have had this issue since I bought the car. The burning smell comes and goes over time and the dealer is unable to duplicate.

Hose and clamps replaced, so far so bueno but then again we haven't had any snow or rain. You can bet I'll drive it like I stole it at the first snow fall.
