Got the Tanabe exhaust put on today... First impressions: sounds like stock can't tell the difference between stock at all from inside the cabin. I mean I knew it was quiet but not this quiet! It's used (seller advised 7k miles) so I imagine it's had plenty of time to break in. Oh well, at least it looks nice!

Bikes can be very dangerous things. I raced motocross for years back in the 80's, but after WAY too many broken bones my parents finally talked me into stopping riding. I started racing go karts after that and eventually bought an Eclipse GSX back in 1991 and raced some SCCA and IDRC with that.
Where is that Gsx now. Still have it

will HFC and intake help the sound? I'm installing my Tanabe tonight and HFCs are getting put in Monday. I read it was quiet but another member here had a sound clip of his and it was perfect so hoping for it to be a little bit more than stock

I actually sold it back in 2000/2001 to one of my buddies when I lived back in Cincinnati, so I could buy a Dakar Yellow E36 M3 to track. The GSX was a 500 HP / 11 second car back then, but last I heard was that Khanh is now running low 10's with it. It had V8 EATER plates on it when I owned it, but he has V8 DUSTR plates on it now. He goes by GSXDream over on the DSMTalk forum, if you're part of the DSM community as well. It's a pretty easy car to identify, as it was one of the first DSM's to be painted yellow. A buddy of mine at the time helped me paint it PPG Lemon Ice Yellow way back in 1992/1993. It was even on the cover of Turbo Magazine back in the Summer of 1996 highlighting my wedding engagement which happened on the track at the Diamond Star Shootout in May 1996.

IMO you'll be very happy with the combination of the Tanabe axle back and HFC's. I ran the Tanabe exhaust with Berk HFC's for several years and loved that set-up, especially after adding the Tanabe Y-pipe as well. I've since tried 2 other full cat-back exhaust set-ups (FI and custom) and keep coming back to the Tanabe axle back, as everything else just seems to have too much drone for my tastes. I'm currently running the Tanabe by itself (no HFC's) along with a Tanabe Y-Pipe and it is pretty mild, but still noticeable louder than the stock set-up.

I'm not sure if I've asked you this, but do you have any videos of the custom Tanabe? I was debating on adding a resonated x-pipe to my setup.

Car's looking great! I've always loved the Garnet Red color!

20mm spacers seem to work just about perfectly with the OEM wheels.

20mm wheels spacers was also one of the first modifications I did to my car WAY back in 2008. Although I picked up my spacers from a vendor on eBay, but they were still very nice for the price.
