Yeah It's daily beater... The roads here in California are crap. I drive over 30,000 miles per year and I don't want the front of my car destroyed. I've had bra's on most of my cars. As long as you take them off every time you wash the car you'll be fine. Never ever had a problem with marks or the paint fading... The clear bra's make the hood look like crap...

Clear bra makes hood look worse than a big hunk of puffy black vinyl?

I would rather have paint chips than a car bra, but to each his own.

Actually, if I *had* to have front end protection, I'd get the clear-bra film. Fortunately, I don't have much of an issue around here, how I drive on the road, and how little I drive. (Knock on wood)

This thread is slow on the awesome photos. Must be winter.

Dirty car in the winter? Bish please lol. Also, do you guys not get worried of having the filter open to water and rain being behind the grill?

It still gets washed often, but I just went through a huge rainstorm on the way home the other day... So it's caked in dirt.

The filter exposed isn't a huge deal, especially here in CA. The Takeda rain shield doesn't fit behind the grill on the sedan, so I can't run it. Z1 has a similar design intake, and doesn't even have a rain shield as an option.

The only time you're really in danger of hydrolocking the motor is when the filter gets submerged in water, and sucks that in. Mist won't hurt anything.

Yea, I know what you mean haha. And I understand it would be hard to hydro lock but I was more worried about dirtying up the mafs or adding a little water to the mixture. Obviously I'm just being over cautious though. And I'm too broke to drop the loot on the intake right now haha

If you can find me a thread to that effect, I'd love to see it.

That being said, the rain shield completely blocks off the front of the filter. There are little slots on top & bottom of the shield, so rather than getting air directly, it goes around the shield and into the filter.

It rarely rains in CA. And when it does, I rarely drive my cars in the rain, because I don't want to detail them afterwards. I couldn't MEH hard enough for trying to make it work and restrict my airflow.
