Key Lock in Car...Help!

Hi,

Before every time if the key is inside the car...I can't click lock on the door (it will just unlock if push lock on door handle button). It just unlock it every time IF the key is inside the car.

For some reason now it doesn't do that any more. I CAN lock my key inside the car.

Is there anyway I can reset it to the old way? So i don't accidentally lock my key inside my car?

Thanks,

Den.

it's supposed to have sensors that sense whether the key is inside or outside the car... so if it's having problems, probably best to take it to dealership and have it fixed under warranty

no it doesn't. the keyport only allows you start the vehicle from the keyfob in the event the key transmitters runs out of battery. i don't think the battery will ever lose sync with the car (in the case your battery dies after a long period of time)... but don't take my word on that one.

you might need to talk to the dealership and check whether or not your BCM is working properly. the only time the car won't prevent locking the vehicle is if there isn't some way some how of opening your car... ie your windows are 50% down, trapping your key in the trunk with your doors unlocked etc.
