Sport Package Options - 2009 Sedan 6MT
I've held on to the 2009 G37 Brochure for a few years now, and am looking for my next car over the winter. Here's the list of Sport Package Options for the 6MT Sedan.
I've got a question about the last two:
My questions for anyone:
Is the Limited Slip only in the Sport model, or is it on any G that's not all-wheel drive?
What is "Sport-tuned suspension"? On my 2003 Maxima, that means a different set of struts (Tokico) and a 1mm thicker front-sway bar. What does it mean on the G37S Sedan?
I've got a question about the last two:
- Split 5-spoke, 18-inch aluminum-allow wheels with 225/50R18 (front) and 245/45R18 (rear) summer-performance tires
- Sport Brakes with 4-piston opposed front calipers with 14-inch rotors and 2-piston opposed rear calipers with 13.8-inch rotors
- Unique sport front fascia and side sills
- Front sport seats with manual thigh extension and driver's power torso and thigh support adjustment
- Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats
- Aluminum pedals and footrest
- Sport-tuned suspension
- Limited Slip Differential
My questions for anyone:
Is the Limited Slip only in the Sport model, or is it on any G that's not all-wheel drive?

A G37 Journey with Sport package will also have the VLSD, tuned-suspension and tuned steering ratio. ( 2011 Infiniti G37 Sedan Specifications | Infinitihelp.com )
My little understanding is that rear suspension is tuned different than all other G37's but I don't know exactly what the differences are. They also use different coil springs. I did feel the difference immediately when switching from my 07X after 4 years.

The VLSD is listed as "Standard" (S) on the Sport Package. But "Included in Package" (P) on the Journey. Which is kind of confusing. If it has to give a "P" to that feature on the Journey, that would mean a Journey with the Sport Package... which is another way of saying Limited Slip is only available with the Sport Package.
Convoluted, yeah. But there it is.
What you also felt was the difference between a four-year old suspension and a brand new one.

That infinitihelp website is a fantastic resource. Thank you.

Modified how? I mean, good to know, but what's the context of that comparison?
Still curious to know what a 2009 "Sport-tuned suspension" means. Like I said, Nissan used the same term on the Maxima SE, and all it meant was a thicker FSB and Tokico struts. Which is fine... I'm just wondering if that means the same on the G.

Infiniti uses "sport-tuned suspension" to mean slightly different bump and rebound settings on the sealed dampers, along with the slightly stiffer swaybar. Not a big difference, but enough to be noticable without taking anything away from the ride characteristics.
