Replacement automatic shift knob

Replacement automatic shift ****
The automatic shift **** in my '09 xS was bit scratched up and my plan was to go with the popular M45s replacement. After ordering the M45s **** and seeing it in person, I wasn't really feeling the cross stitching, just didn't seem to quite fit. After a trip to my local dealer, I saw that the M37/M56 touring package shift **** was a much closer replacement. I ordered one up and it installs exactly like the M45s ****, I believe all the dimnensions are identical. Attached are some pictures, you wil see that the straight contrast stitching on the **** matches the xS stitching on the seats on steering wheel exactly. The **** color looks a bit washed out from my phone pictures but the graphite black matches up with my black interior very well after I applied some leather conditioner. The shift boot is vinyl so it has a higher gloss.

there is a trick to putting it on as the indents to secure the **** into place do not line up. If your not driving miniacally then you should not have an issue but if you continual pull the **** off (i did so only on 3 occasions and never on the track) then you can use a dremel tool to create a new groove for the pin to fit securely.

Thanks, I am pretty happy with it!
I'm super particular with things and I was able to install it in about 25 minutes, would probably take most people 10. Used needle nose pliers to take the clip off the original ****, slide the new **** on, used a razor blade to mark where the grooves needed to be on the shifter, took new **** off, used dremel tool with a cutting wheel to make the new grooves, put new **** back on, put new clip in, pop boot back in place, done.
I think using a dremel/rotary tool to make the new grooves is the best bet, it takes about 20 seconds for each of the two grooves, matched the OEM exactly and I never have to worry about it.
It was a bit of a long story on the price (wrong item shipped, return postage credit, etc) but I think it would normally cost $125 - $135 plus shipping. I ordered from Tony at Circle Infiniti in NJ.

Umm, as I said, the M37/M56 **** matches the straight contrast stitching on the sport seats and steering wheel, the M45 **** uses a different cross stitching. If you don't have the sport interior it probably doesn't make a difference. I believe the stitching on the M45s **** is also a bit brighter than the M37/M56 ****. In my photo, you can see the contrast stitching on the seat. Of course this is a small detail, to me it is important.

The regular M45 **** had perforated leather, the M45s has contrast cross sticking, the regular M56 looked just like basic black leather and the M56 touring uses the **** I have with straight contrast stitching.
