Top Speed exhaust for the Sedan?
#121
@Ibanez540r ,thanks!!
Look at this :G37 Y-pipe
I think they are saying that the tubing and the flange is 1.75" going to a 2.5" midpipe.They seem to suggest that any other Y pipe is going to be 3" outlet to the stock 2.5" inch midpipe.
very interesting.
So if we get topspeed only. we would be 1.75 to 2.5".
exhaust depot +topspeed would be 2.5 " all the way.
@deeprumble :any comments?

I've been waiting on this exhaust for my g35x for months as well. I've been emailing back and forth with Top Speed and they had informed me the exhaust would be back in stock in September. I contacted them again recently and they said they will only have 1st gen sedan exhaust in stock for awhile.

I'm interested in finding out if anyone paired their TopSpeed exhaust to an aftermarket y-pipe (Exhaust Depot, Megan Racing, etc) and/or HFCs?
I read a few mentioned it would degrade the sound quality but I'm curious if that actually is the case...

I've done pretty extensive research / listened to about a million sound clips. The consensus seems to be that the resonated hfc from fast intentions does not degrade sound quality (and is pretty much the only one that doesn't add "rasp")
If you search youtube, you'll find quite a few clips (a lot of 350/370 guys,) with top speed + hfc combos. Also, it seems like quite a few people have paired the topspeed with the exhaust depot y pipe.
FWIW, i'm planning on ordering the RHFC from FI over the next day or two / getting it installed asap (no y pipe for now, as it apparently makes the smallest difference in sound.) I'll happily post sound clips when I get it installed.
hth!

Look forward to your impressions, the only review I heard was a HFC and the rasp was a problem, hopefully the RHFCs will just turn up the volume without bringing anything ugly into the mix.
It seems like the Y-pipe really isn't a significant factor in the sound, just a bit more efficient flow.
