Potentially serious safety defect

Remember.... The vehicles brakes are stronger than the motor. All these Toyota smash ups and fatalities could have been avoided by a mash of the brake pedal and hold.
2. Toss the damn transmission in neutral. Dying from a high speed impact or engine damage. You choose.
Only 9/10 people should be privileged to drive a motor vehicle....

Not being able to shut off the motor while the car is in P or N is more of an inconvenience, not quite a safety issue. Not being able to stop the car at WOT is a safety issue. The motor can normally be shut off while the car is in motion:

My "Passenger Air Bag Off" light comes on at times when my wife is in the passenger seat. She is about 105 lbs. She has tried shifting around in the seat (dealer's suggested solution), but that does not go.
Seems like a safety hazard if the bag does not deploy in a collision.
Any else experience this?

My car does that too at times. The car has advanced airbags so I guess it knows when the airbag is needed and when its not. Maybe its based on seating position the use of a seatbels etc. Just a guess. It has happened with a 120lb passenger and some 200+ lb passengers. Sometimes shifting their weight does make the light go off. I can say when my little neice or nephew get in the front seat the light comes on instantly. Just a reminder that the backseat is the safest place for a child.
