i have a 2011 6 mt. The sports seats suck. I drive about 90 min. a day. I am thinking about getting another car without sport seats. Yeah, yeah, I didn't test drive it thoroughly, however, I had an 04 with no problems and did not expect the sport seats to be this uncomfortable!!! ouch! by the way, I am thin, 6 ft, 165 lbs.
Btw, I like the car in all other aspects.

I drive 46 miles (90 min) each way from the south bay to the peninsula on 101, 85 and/or 280 each day in my 09 G37S 6MT and think it's a great commuter car.

No issue with the sport seats -- I'm 6'2"/250. I average 21 MPG commuting, but if I cared about mileage I would have bought a [insert car that gets good gas mileage here].

I can't believe anyone thinks the S rides hard...hard compared to what? A Buick Park Avenue? It rides like a sport sedan should, which means you can feel the road. If you're concerned about that, buy a [insert car that rides like a pillow here].

The G has been a great car to drive and when you spend as much time driving as I do, you need to enjoy what you're driving. The G has yet to disappoint.

Not sure what he's comparing it to... my EVO VIII, now that was HARD. I made a number of trips from WV to visits friends in Kentucky, and I was just short of going to a chiropractor at each end of the journey!

I spend on average 4hrs/day in my G, no issues whatsoever with the seats...

Maybe some folks are like Hank Hill, and just need gluteus implants?

I am 5'-10" 175# and I hate the non sport seats. I guess different strokes for different folks........I hate when I get loaners that are non sports.

You want to be uncomfortable try doing a 4,000 mile trip in a lifted and modded Jeep! You will also know what bad gas milage is as well. These cars get great gas milage in my world. lol

Every couple weeks I go home to Minneapolis (from Fargo) which is about 240miles one way. Doing 80 I average 26.5-27mpg and once I get there, I am never tired or in pain.

Did one 1250mile weekend to Hastings Nebraska (from Fargo) which is straight up in the middle of Nebraska. That was a long trip (i was by myself) but the car handled the interstate phenomenally. Coming back, I said screw it and cut up through South Dakota on the backroads.. This was where I set the cruise at its maximum possible speed, but averaged much higher than that. That was the most incredible drive I have ever had. The car just glided. I had some 80s hits blasting on the BOSE and I was humming through the dips and valleys of South Dakota at high speed. It was just fricken awesome.

Before this car I had an 05 AT sedan which I drove to Northern California, to Southern California, Vegas, Colorado, and then back to Minneapolis. That was a 6400mile trip over the span of 2 weeks. Never once did I get tired in the G35. 2 summers ago i drove that car to Key West Florida from Minneapolis and that was also not a bad trip. 4600 miles over 1.5 weeks. Still not bad!

I rented a G37X and so far put about 50 miles driving it back home. How accurate is the computer in gauging mpg? I was going about 60mph and rpm was around 2000 and the computer shows about 30mpg. I know it's best to hand calculate but since I only have 50 miles on it, is the number a little bit to good to be true?

With a little bit of restraint, you can expect to get 26 through 30 mpg in highway driving.

That seems high, definately hand calculate to find out how acurate yours is. My car says it gets a bit better MPGs than it really does.

Do these cars (maybe newer model year?) have an option where the mpg is automatically reset since last full fuel up?

I don't find the ride too firm, the seats too uncomfortable, or the road noise too loud - but my other car is a Z06 so I might be a bit desensitized.

This was the best car I could find that covered all the bases of AWD, performance, acceptable fuel economy, and style under $50K.

I get 27 mpg on my long Interstate trips, averaging 80 mph. So it sounds feasible that I would get 30 mpg if I drove at a constant 60 mph.
The question I have is where do people take highway trips at 60 mph?
