I'm so glad I chose the G37 over the new BMW 3 series~

WRONG MOVE, BMW!

I bought my G37x in Oct. and love it! My brother has a BMW and it sucks with a lot of repair and maintenance issues. Also, I love it when I pass a BMW 3 series - a lot of them really take notice - I think they are starting to question weather they made the right decision! Consumer reports has the G37 Journey rated the top compact sports sedan - even the G25 - the 335i comes in third behind the two G's!

The 335 will leave the G in the dust talking about performance. Even CR recommends the 3 series. That said if I wanted to spend an additional 7 grand my first choice would have been the 335. The G is a great second choice though.

I'm on the other side.
I'm set to get the new 335 when my lease ends.
The G is best for the buck but it's no BMW.
BTW the G is really lacking torque.

You really have to spend a LOT of seat time in the 3 to realize the difference. A simple test drive or driving someone's car for a short time won't do it. The difference in overall "feeling" is quite large.
Stock for stock, the 3 still wins. You have to remember that although BMW rates it at 300/300, it's underrated. How else could numerous dynos of a stock 3 with a 6 speed show whp ratings in the mid 280's? A $600 tune later, and the 3 smokes the G

That's the thing with the 335i, it only takes about $600 and the car is a beast. Reminds me of the 1987 Buick Grand National, play around with the turbo and injectors the car would run in the 12's.

LOL, you are really in denial, aren't you? Sways on the stock G "sport" suspension will not out-handle a 3 with the sport package. Unlike the G, a 3 with the sport package gets upgraded springs and struts, not just brakes.

I think when you talking about the 3 series, your focus is on the 335i, as a general, the 335i sure on par with G, but I think the lack of reliability for a car is very crucial in the long run. in terms of performance , G is sufficient in competing 335i not in all aspects, but in terms of power mangement

2. What do you mean power management?
Anyone who has spent any serious seat time in the 335i knows the think is fast. It's better at it's mission of a sports sedan. Just because it's better at the mission, doesn't make it the best car for you. But don't bs the crowd, the 335 will smoke the g, doesn't mean it's for you though.

g37guy01 said, "The 335 will leave the G in the dust talking about performance" which in stock form, is exaggeration.
We should only be comparing stock to stock...not Dynans and sways etc. The OP compared 2 stock vehicles and said why he's glad he chose the G.

I realize (most here do) that the 335i is a little quicker and handles a bit better - Stock. At > $10k more, it should. (Can)

I was referring two stock vehicles , but 335i is 10k more than a G37, so it should perform the extra it should.
