2011 G37S 6MT Potential Issues
About to pull the trigger on one of these. Trying to get a feel for some of the issues or quirks of this car, things to watch out for when taking delivery, etc...
I had an opportunity to test drive a used '08, which seemed to drive rather well. I noticed the clutch engagement point was rather high off the floor, which seems to be a known issue. Not that big of a deal for me as I come from a late model 4th gen camaro 6spd (late 90's), which had similar clutch action, except the clutch effort was about 5x greater than what's on this car. Has this been addresses in any capacity on the newer 2011 models at all?
Anything else to be aware of?
Many thanks!

Yes, the shifter vibrates a tad and the throwout bearing can sometimes sound like a small cement mixer. My boys Z was like this, my 06 G35 coupe was like this, and the G37S' ive been in are also like this. Its a Nissan transmission thing. It is rather loud but it is definitely stout. Completely normal.

i picked mine up about 3 months ago, 6mt, the only complaint which the dealer said is a "standard noise", is that when idling you can actually hear the lifters, to a point where it sounds like the car has no oil and they are running dry. but dealer said its a normal thing so im not too worried. Also heard that using synthetic oil fixes the sounds a great deal.
in my opinion go for it! youll love the car

After posting that question, I found several long winded threads debating the option. While here in chicago, the inclines are few and far between and usually not a big deal at all. However other areas I travel too are quite steep.
On the camaro, the ebrake option stopped working about 3 years ago, so quick clutch/throttle/brake technique was a necessity

There are a couple of DIY's to improve the clutch but I honestly didn't think they helped immensely (not that it was terrible to start with). But coming from a '03.5 G sedan, it was a major step-up for me. You won't regret the decision.
