Wow, I thought I was on a bimmer board with all these snotty comments; I think the SHO is a very good car if you don't mind its huge size. You can make it faster than the G but it will be hard to match the nimbleness of the G because of the SHO weight and girth.

I love how they test the Gs with twin turbo cars like the ford and bmw, and either it wins or loses by a tiny bit difference ... geeee i wonder how the G would do twin turbo'd .... lol

Taurus is a boat. Rented one last week. Good highway cruiser but couldn't tell where the front and rear were. Good gas mileage too, 26 mpg overall in about 85% highway. An adventure in a tight parking space. No comparison to the G in ergonomics.

I drove the Taurus, definitely a large size car. However, my wife and I both thought it drove 'funny' and was and 'olds' man car. Sticker on the car was $38, right off the bat the salesperson said he would let it go to $32K

I sat in a loaded MKS with the turbo sticker $47K or so. Salesman said he would let it go for $40.

Ford has gone up a notch. Their 2012 Focus is a step up from Civic and Corolla. It's something I could drive.

Having driven several recent Ford products SUVs and Cars (rentals), I feel that Ford has definitely stepped up the quality and features on their vehicles. However they are just not the same when it comes to driving dynamics and road feel. Also the VQ engine is just incredible!! That being said, everyone has their opinion and to each their own.

This is pretty funny. Torque is the ONE thing the G is lacking.

With a couple exceptions I think most people have been fairly reasonable. While the G sedan is far from light and nimble, the Taurus is barge-ish. I test drove a fully optioned SHO when they first came out, and came away somewhat impressed. If you need more space, it's not bad. I then test drove the G and came away all smiles. I found it much sportier and much more fun to drive.

I agree Jayhawk, unfortunately, this is at the "heart" of America's economic woes, statements like that. I have a 2010 G37X, it's not as Good as my 2007 G35X primarily due to the 7AT (at least for me - see many my discontented posted on other Threads), BUT, these two cars are the best that I'v ever had over the course of driving a variety of cars and SUVs in my 42 Years of driving. You could start an entire Forum about this issue Of Buying American or Not Buying American and why....As an old man, probably one of the oldest on this forum, I can say that: Man, we feel asleep "at the wheel" a long time ago. Now, we can forward to driving electric cars from TATA motors or Chinese manufacturers in the very near future......I Can't Wait..that's what I've worked for and contirbuted to society for since I'm 14 years old.....driving a Tata Electric car made in India to the local Stop N Shop to buy my vegetables from China !!!
