A little thoughts on my new 2011 G37 Sedan, Loving it!

Hello G37 Friends,

Bought my new 2011 G37 Sedan 3 weeks ago and I want to share bit thoughts on this vehicle and overall experiences so far with it. Gotta say I love it!

2011 Automatic 7 Speed, Color: Exterior Moon white w/ Interior Graphite, equipped with Premium package.
Pricing paid: We are in California the MSRP was $39,495 although I pushed further got it below the invoice, so got it for $34,185 plus tax and license fee. It’s awesome IMO (A little bit follow up from the dealer got me free 15,000 miles maintenance fee waived :-)

Selection: Prior purchase, my target range was in between Audi A4, BMW 335i, & TL. I'd say as a sports sedan, the pricing range shouldn't be over 45K, the Audis are nice with eyelashes but those 2.0 turbos are well known for problems esp on a long term perspective; while Bimmers got tons of problems unless leasing it. Since I'm gonna buy my own car so I eliminated European cars due to the lack of reliability. Now it comes to Japanese cars, TLs are nice, but the front end just look very plain and be honest, it looks ugly and awkward. Although the interior compensated a bit but still it doesn’t give me that FEELING G37 can. G37 Sedan: just pure dynamically mixed with this classic feeling. It's hard to describe but it has its own uniqueness. I'd choosing a sports sedan to be unique. G37 has the curve, the eye (2010-2011 model), the sporty line. A top notch engineering beauty. the sedan version looks more mature. This is my car, I love it!

Driving dynamic: So far very good. the car handles quick and steers up quick as well. Some may find the gas tank drains real quick but this is a 3.7L Horse and you gotta prepare to feed food to it.

Purchasing a G37 is such a great investment, and he will stay with me for the years to come.

We must have been separated at birth. I just bought a black on black G37x sedan last week and your thoughts mirror my thoughts exactly on why I bought the G37. I was looking at the same other cars and the reasons I passed on those were the same reasons you posted. The only difference is you paid those nice American prices with those lower American taxes while us Canadians pay thru the nose, although I did get almost 6K off my car from MSRP.

The sedan upgrade from last generation is a sophisticated and mature yet sporty upgrade while I find the current gen coupe actually looks worse than the last gen coupe and I still see alot of the older coupes which probably means than many current last gen coupe owners feel the same way. I know I wouldn't be in a hurry to trade that last gen, it remains a stunner. The current one lost that sophisticated look and was made to look a little too cute not to mention it sports a resemblance to the Pontiac G6 from the rear which is not a good thing.

I agree. We own an '09 37X sedan, and an '04 g35 coupe. I don't know what I'm going to do when it comes time to replace the coupe...which I'd like to do in the next year or two. I like the gadgets and interior of the g37, but whomever designed the exterior of the g37 coupe needs to be fired from Infiniti.

Right now one of the strongest contenders for my coupe replacement is the new Mustang GT 5.0.

Forgot to add...congrats to the OP! Enjoy your new car!

You made the correct choice amoung the cars you considered.
The G37 was designed to compete with the BMW 3 Series, and is actually a much better value for the money, and more reliable, than the BMW 335i. Audi's are overpriced for what you get, with the A4 prices inflated since the A5s and up are so pricey. The TL is a Honda. Reliable, but fugly and front wheel drive just does not cut it if you enjoy the driving experience and feel of the road. So, congrats and enjoy.
