The only difference is you paid those nice American prices with those lower American taxes while us Canadians pay thru the nose, although I did get almost 6K off my car from MSRP.

The sedan upgrade from last generation is a sophisticated and mature yet sporty upgrade while I find the current gen coupe actually looks worse than the last gen coupe and I still see alot of the older coupes which probably means than many current last gen coupe owners feel the same way. I know I wouldn't be in a hurry to trade that last gen, it remains a stunner. The current one lost that sophisticated look and was made to look a little too cute not to mention it sports a resemblance to the Pontiac G6 from the rear which is not a good thing.

Hey Dan! Congrat to ya as well~

Yeah, gotta agree the coupe version doesnt look that unique comparing to his older brother G35, it just looks very 2003 IMO. Man up! thats all i can say, be mature the 1st thing is getting a sedan.
while sedans are very sophisticated engineered, and at my work there is a co-worker's 2010 335i so today I parked next to it, our G37 sedan looks bigger and higher than 335i. BMWs are great cars, but not the "ultimate" machine or whatever they called for, (maybe the ultimate toy lasts 2 yrs haha) , there are many competitors to the Bimmers these days, I can call G37 as the ultimate driving machine, but I dont want to because our G37 has this humbleness to stand out as a giant.

At end of day, Power speaks louder than Words!!

The G37 was designed to compete with the BMW 3 Series, and is actually a much better value for the money, and more reliable, than the BMW 335i. Audi's are overpriced for what you get, with the A4 prices inflated since the A5s and up are so pricey. The TL is a Honda. Reliable, but fugly and front wheel drive just does not cut it if you enjoy the driving experience and feel of the road. So, congrats and enjoy.
Exactly~

335i has many issues oil pumps etc. Also, the new ones coming out in 2012, I highly doubt it could compete with our Gs. The MSRP will be much higher than current. Well, I dont want to waste time to comment on any FWD cars. hehe

A4 : for those looking to pay 5 grands just for a premium package aka eye lashes? .. that'd be the worst ever investment unless this guy is from some eastern europe never drove any japanese cars. we'd appreciate our car isn't troublesome like those 2.0 turbos visit shop every single week, because G37 is a weekend car, A4 are shop cars. thats all i can say.

Welcome to the club! I've had mine for 90 days and LOOOOOVE IT! Of course it's my 4th Infiniti, so I'm not surprised. It was a decent step down from my old M45 which I do dearly miss, but the feeling and excitement of the 6MT almost makes up for it! Congratz again tho, they are wonderful vehicles and it's nice to have something that at least around here in MN not too many ppl have, yet there is a great following of clubs and the like for ppl that are interested in that. Nothing bad about getting compliments randomly when your stopping for gas or thumbs up on the highway!

Yep, that 5.0 is a hellofa motor, it sounds awesome and really has a strong torque curve. The main downside is the hit you'll take if you only keep your cars 4 yrs or less. I've already seen 2011 5.0s on Ebay motors w/ just a few thousand miles going for $24k.

I just ordered one as well, picking it up tomorrow. Leasing it though, the deals on infinities recently were AMAZING so it was hard to pass up. It's actually my first car, so I'm extremely excited.

I was interested in the coupe because the exhaust note is amazing on it, and it looks great, but after test driving it I changed my preference. For one it was tiny (considering I'm 6' tall) and my friends are all tall. Also I felt crammed inside and a few other things bothered me...so I went with the black on black g37x sedan premium package.

I was going to open a topic as well introduce myself, and ask a couple of questions about what products everyone uses here to keep the car clean. I have a clean freak friend who swears by ice and 10 towels in his trunk haha.

p.s. I was initially looking at the v6 mustang because I thought it was affordable and it's a great all around car from mpg to performance. I always liked it also, but when I got a quote on a 28.5k mustang, and a 43k G37x I scratched my head and the decision was way too easy. The price difference was literally about 150 a month on a lease more for the mustang. Although this car was not my first choice, I'm glad things went the way they did because this car is far more practical and although I will miss not having RWD, in the long AWD may be beneficial.

You need to read up on how the G37X AWD works. You are mostly driving in RWD...it's not an all time AWD.

Enjoy your new car & welcome to the site. It's interesting how leasing works, so much better to lease a car that's got great resale value since you'll pay more for the one that heavily depreciates. Just check out lease deals on that POS Dodge Nitro for laughs. I think that clunker leases for like 400/mo since it's only worth about 6k at lease end, lol.

It depends on your definition of compete. The g is a great value compared to the 335 but the 335 simply outclasses the segment in terms of handling and performance. I thought about the 335 but the g is simply a better value and I bought another car two weeks ago.

Reliability of the 335 is not an issue, even cr recommends them.

Oh yeah op congratz.

I also just picked up the G37x Sedan last month.... I am loving it so far... Im coming from a 3 Series Coupe..... The G hands down beats in comfort, gadgets, value, acceleration (I had the 328), etc. etc. BUT two things the BMr has on it... 1 . Handling - the BMr drove on rails... but I believe this can be corrected with sway bars, 2. Tranny... The BMr in normal mode drove very similar to the G with out the 3 - 2 chunkiness but the Sport Mode in the BMr made it a whole new car... High revving, very swift shifts... I am telling you absolutely no hesitation when shifting in sport mode... The G.. thats a different story... Even using manual mode its not very swift when making a shift.... Unless you have driven a Bmr for 3 years you would know what I am saying...

I would have to say if the G had a better tranny it would be a solid 9.5 (.5 for too much sway)... but due to the tranny issue which is really starting to get to me its a 7.5 maybe 8.

i havent done too much research on the x but most new awd cars distribute most of their power to their back wheels when not needed.

I got the g37x premium package for about half the monthly payment and probably less out of pocket needed than for the nitro. haha

They showed me how much the car is going to be worth at the time the lease is over...the car will only lose about 6-7k in value in 24 months and 20k miles.

I was told that infiniti has great resale value which is why they can lease cheaper also.

I also read somewhere that recently they gave sales on infinitis because the tsunami in Japan destroyed about 30000 vehicles in a factory and they were trying to cut their losses

I test drove a 335i before buying my G37. The 335i has no doubt about handling but the thing it's a bit too tight head room i just cant sit well in that small car. (maybe Europeans are all skinny and tall? lol) but I enjoy my G , the power, the curve. There is no winner in this segment IMO, car is for transportation but end of day it's a preference on what people enjoy.

I love my G so much!
