my car runs so fn heavy
#17
I have a 2010 w/ about 24k miles and it used to feel heavy to me as well. So I started driving it like I stole it and now it feels just as quick as it used to be. A few fast take offs from a stop usually lightens the feel. But i do notice it starting to feel heavy again when I'm in heavy traffic. Just the nature of the beast.

You babied it too miuch during break in. I don't condone going to red line or flooring it during break in but a heavy foot is far better than grandma driving. There are too many scientific articles on how to properly break in a car of todays generation and all point to a more aggressive approach over manufacture ways.
Since your past the break in period get an injector flush done. Also clean the throttle body.. Probably a ton of grandma driving carbon build up... Then drive it like you stole it for 1k. Also change your air filters... Guarantee it will come back.

Good points there. I see that there's a guide for throttle body cleaning, and I can change the airfilters myself but how do I injector flush? Is it the one that you put in the gas tank?
I have not babied the car at all. As a matter of fact, I've driven it 20,250 miles in 10 months and about 60% of that is me stepping on it hard. It just feels doll now. No soul in the car and it has hard time going over 3000rpm

Injector cleaning should be done by a professional as they hook up directly to the injector lines and force in the solution under high pressure. Dealer or qualified mechanic - I know Jiffy Lube does this but not recommending them. The fuel additives probably would be fine but could not comment on their effectiveness over the high pressure / high volume approach...
Also you using premium fuel all the time?

Today I will be doing a full tune up to see if the car will come back. I'll reset the ecu, Mobil 1 oil change with K&N oil filter, airfilters, fuel injector, and probably throttle body cleaning.
I just hope that it comes back to me and if not, then ill give it one more go by changing back to my stock 17s and if all fails then a trip to the dealer is on my fortune.

the 19s do make a difference, not by much but that is what you are feeling. you should see a noticeable difference after installing new filters and oil change if youve never changed them before and youre at 20k. they are probably pretty dirty.

And yes, swapping the wheels/tires should be your last option

I agree, was ready to post this myself till I read this post. The bigger tires are probably a little heavier than the stock not enough to feel a difference. My bet is on the wheels. Unless you spent a fortune on wheels I'm betting your new wheels are much heavier than your stocks.

My dealer said the that ECU reset, while making the gear changes more smooth, also results in less apparent performance. Could it be that the loaner cars don't have the ECU change?
