How to take side view mirror housing off its base?
Hi, everyone,
As I have posted about my broken side view mirror in this thread:
https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...francisco.html
Now finally I have time to take care of this mirror (my poor G boy has been wearing duct tape for over a month and a half now).
I did some search online, and found this website:
Infiniti Parts - Infiniti Parts Online
and ordered part 5 of the side mirror part set yesterday. Now my question is: how to separate the mirror housing(which includes part 2 in the pic) from the mirror base?
I know I need to open up the door panel and get to the bolts of part 7 in this picture. But after that, I need to replace the broken part 7 with a new one.
The part 5 itself is only $17, plus tax, shipping, handling, it's like $27. I think it's definitely worth a shot than replacing the whole mirror set which is $300.
by the way, is there anything noteworthy when I open up the door panel? I only did it once to my old I30 years ago. I certainly do not wanna mess up the parts behind the panel.
Your inputs will be appreciated!
Thank you!
