How can I tell if my car has the shock sensor?

How can I tell if my car has the shock sensor?

Short of smacking the car!
Where is it mounted?

shock sensors? no response because none of are really sure of what you're talking about. sorry i'm gonna go out on a limb and say no, your car does not have shock sensors...

1. Lock your doors and wait a minute or two for it to arm.

2. Standing at the front of your car, find a nice solid place near the center of your bumper and push down firmly.

3. ????

The shock sensor does not detect up/down movement, it detects impact to the body. A mercury/tilt sensor detects that type of movement.


Lock the doors and wait. The area where the front and rear doors meet when closed is a solid area, use your palm and strike the area. IF you have one, and IF it's adjusted properly, it should set off the alarm.

If your car has it, the sensor gets installed in the passenger side footwell to the right - possibly behind the kick panel. See the following link for a picture of the sensor:
