tanabe axle back question

finally looking into an exhaust for my 09 g37 , i love the sound of tanabe's axle back and was wondering if it would an awd sedan. i'm pretty sure it'll fit but a thread asking for advice/opinions can't hurt, thanks in advance.

You know you can buy two mufflers and have a exhaust shop make you a axle back for about 300

Rick,

Can you recommend specific mufflers that sound as good as the Tanabe? (Asking seriously, because I've considered the Tanabe's, too.)

Thanks,
Chris

Stick with the Tannabe's go to a muffler shop and have two mufflers installed for $300 you will get three hundred dollars worth of Fart Cans. Tannabe's are a bit expensive but start screwing with your exhaust too much be prepared for the CE light. I have the Tannabe's and they sound sweet no drone at any speeds and it has a deep growl when you step on it.

Thanks for the reply. I checked out some vids of G's with Flowmasters on youtube after my earlier post and I don't really think it's for me. If/when I do it, I'll likely stick with a known-good configuration, either the Tanabe's or some other complete setup.

Quick question, I'm interested in a Tanabe as well. Does the kit come with new exhaust clamps? If not anyone know where a good place to get a new set?

I ask be cause after I installed my sway bars, I cross threaded one of the clamps and I think I may have to cut the clamp out to get the OE mufflers back out.

No they do not and there's several oem Infiniti Parts sites just Google it.

LOL what are you serious I had a full catback done to both my 03 altima and 05 IS300 and both sounded amazing. I had full stainless steel piping done to one magnaflow muffler with a 16" resonator and it sounded amazing always got compliments. IS300 same set up but with a flowmaster muffler and that sounded amazing gave a more muscle sound and not to loud either. But that was because I always used a small resonator. The fart cans you hear are because they actually buy cheap fart can exhaust from ebay and they don't used resonators..... I am actually really happy with the exhaust on the G so im not doing a exhaust on this. But im still getting a xpipe and getting the 1" piping from the cats to the xpipe changed! I suggest you get this done as well while your at the shop.

Magnaflow, HKS, flowmaster, and borla. Flowmaster and Borla give you a deep muscle sound. HKS is usally just real deep, magnaflow is deep and quiet. I'm not a exhaust sound master but this is what I realized from all the cars I have had and the exhaust they had for these cars. I dunno why this isn't popular on G's but most car forums I have been on a lot of people go custom. Its real cheap 3-400 dollars you get to pick the style you want and tone. Just my two cents, might start a thread on this.

-this is from the HKS thread

Whip no offense but that was an ignorant comment, I understand sniper a 100% when he said he perfers bolt on's but to say getting a custom exhaust = riced out Civic is dumb..... My cars sounded better than most of the G exhaust out there and I had no drone on the highway again thanks to my resonators I put on. If you know how peice parts together than you will be okay. I am just giving everyone another option. I will never pay more than 600 for a full catback. Expecially an axle back for 500, all that it is are two muffler and less than 12" of piping......
