Trading My G37 for S4
As the title says, this is it.... I have hinted at this in some of the Audi posts in this section, and I have been looking at new cars over the past several months. I just worked out a deal on a new 2012 Audi S4. Ibis white, with nav, leather, sport differential, and the B&O sound system. The car is being shipped from Houston, so I won't have it until around Friday. I will be trading the G in to Audi of Dallas (just in case you know someone looking for a nice 6MT 2009 G37 sedan with low miles)....
I have mixed feelings. I am excited about the new car, but I have been a Nissan/Infiniti only guy for the past 12+ years, so it will be a big change (1997 Maxima, 2003 350Z, 2004 G35 sedan, and my current 2009 G37 sedan). This will also be my first non-manual car in some time. I went with the dual clutch tranny on the S4. Although I have not driven a S4 with one, I have driven some other VW cars with it, and it is pretty sweet. I guess I am getting old, and rowing my own gears just does not have the same appeal as it used to. Clicking off instant shifts with the paddles sounds good to me at this point.
See ya G....
New
Volk's and Eibach's
Advan's, Tein's, and other stuff

the s4 is a whole different beast compared to the G (and from what i heard, MUCH more fun to drive). just make sure that you got yourself a good warranty on your audi because their track record in terms reliability in the long term leaves something to be desired.
we will miss you and your G on driver for sure. congrats on the new pick up!

Amazing thread!
Since I'm still in the market I frequent many different car forums. Just thought I'd chime in that if you were to announce you were getting an S4 on most of those other forums, you wouldn't get the 100% supportive replies you've gotten. It would be mostly flames and insults.
So I say congrats to THIS forum for not being like the insecure defensive owners that populate most other forums (with the Acura TL forum standing out as one of the worst in that regard).
Hey jran76, how come you didn't get Ice Silver...that seems like your color
Ibis white is a great color for the S4 though.
Did you go with the stock 18" wheels or the optional 19's?
Great that you found one at a local dealer...ordering from Germany sucks.

I guess I'm the only one that can't get past that huge grille. Not my cup of tea, but if the track record of reliability is there, that's what matters most. I wish you the best of luck with your new ride.
