I like the sunroof and I use it a fair bit but it's all personal preference.

Some Infiniti dealerships may do a sunroof install, but it'll be expensive and more than likely not as good as the OEM installation. So don't waste your money (and a good deal) on that. It sounds as though you're looking for popular opinion to sway your purchase of this G. It's better to know what YOU want out of your next car and whether a sunroof would be of value to YOU.

I actually hate the sunroof. It's too bad that you can't buy the S models without the Sun roof.

I opted not to get the sunroof. My husband has a tall upper body and the lack of headroom was a no go. It was actually kind of difficult to find one that didn't have it.

I didn't put a sunroof in my "must have" list but have learned to enjoy it being open mostly while driving at night or in cooler weather. It does reduce the head room a bit for the taller guys, but it doesn't for me and I'm 6ft tall. As others have said, it's your call so don't let someone elses opinion cloud your own likes or dislikes.

Sunroof Usage - or lack there of

In the over two years that I've owned my G, I've only opened and closed my sunroof a grand total of two times. First occasion was when I accepted delivery of the vehicle from the dealer - to make sure the darned thing worked. Second time was for a passenger who just wanted to see how it worked. That's it. I have absolutely NO use for the contraption. It's hot enough inside my graphite interior G-37 without having the New Mexico sun beat directly in on my poor little old bald head!

the real question is whether or not you can live with a base G37, you can live without the sunroof. the sport and premium packages come with pretty nice equipment.

either way if you don't get it, just live with it. it's not worth to get an aftermarket unit installed.

With the cabin of the sedan being on the small side, the glass in the roof is nice even if you do not slide it open. Lets in light, making the cabin feel more open, bright and spacious. I personally have not bought a car or suv in the last 20 years which did not come with a sunroof or removable top. Helps to sell the car at resale as well. As a couple of others have said, the premium package at the very least is a must for the G.

what other things do u get w/the journey package? I don't think theres anything i care about. I'm in high school so yes i do care about status symbol, its just how high school works. Does the journey have any options a high schooler might need? for ex: i dont need a navi sys.

Hahaa status in high school, people will make fun of you for not having a sunroof! Seriously tho the best thing about journey is the rear view camera.

I love a sunroof and rarely drive with it closed unless it's unbearably hot or I'm really rolling on the interstate.

Wow you're in high school and getting a G? That's a good enough status symbol already imo.

i think a sunroof is a U.S. thing. at least in Europe, most of the luxury cars do not have the sunroof options, or at least it is not a big thing there where people choose it.

to the OP's question, sunroof is not important to me. i hardly use it. but i rather have the other features the Journey comes with.
