VDC permanent off
Hey guys I found a cool trick in my 2010 sedan today while driving. I wanted to turn off the vdc so I did by just pushing it, but I thought what the hell, ill just hold the bloody button down and see what happens. I held the vdc button for approximately 15 seconds and the vdc light on the dash started blinking and the vdc was permanently off including every other stability, traction, and such off and the VDC button would not respond to pressing. When I got home, I turned the car off and ON again and the vdc button started responding.
Just a cure for 100% vdc off I guess till restart.

I don't quite understand what this accomplishes... pressing the VDC button to off, turns off the VDC... but holding it down turns the VDC off and makes it blink. yet either way, when you turn off the car and then on, the VDC is back on?
so all you did was **** off the VDC?

When you have the VDC off, the light on the dash is ON therefore the traction, stability are not 100% off till you hold the vdc button for about 15 seconds and it turns everything off. Which means wheel spin, sharp turns without slowing are all under the drivers hands rather than the computer

I could've sworn I've had this conversation on a 370Z forum...
just out of curiosity how are you confirming that your stability and traction control are off? are you doing burn outs from stop? are you drifting?

The whole behavior of the car is different. Yes I can do burn outs off of stops in either D, DS, it M1. I say its pretty useful when you want to do some donuts

As per the manual, when you push the VDC button it only disables stability control; the traction control system stays on.

VDC is either on or off.... holding down the button doesn't do anything magical
