I understand that but that's not the case. Ive ran 235/45/17 motives on my last car with no issues of noises. I doubt it's the tire making road noise unless it is defective. The droning like sound is at its loudest when I hit 75mph. And then I hear it not as drastic but still hear it when I go down to 45-40mph.

I'm gunna see if I can have a tire shop swap out one of the front tires with a different tire but with the same size and see if that makes the noise go away. If it does then the tire I removed must be defective. That's the only option I can come up with.

P.S I've driving approx 200 miles with this wheel setup
Not breaking-in per se, but the sharp edges on brand new treads tend to be noisier than ones that have softened around the edges once they get miles on them. Hopefully that's the case, or possibly a bad tire, let us know what you find out.

Yea I mean like I said I drove about 200 miles with these tires. And I've never had an issue with new tires. So it's odd it has happened to me now. If it is only one tire or all tires, I can exchange them for a new set or a new set of different tires. With that said. Can I run 245/45/19 fronts and 275/40/19 rears?? The Difference in diameter is -0.02" (0.07%) can I run this setup on my awd sedan??

I see lot of members running 245/40/19 in the front and 275/35/19 in the rear. These are well within 3% variance. Not sure if this setup has any impact on AWD system.

There's been a few that have had issues at higher speeds (80+ mph) when their setups were over 1%, The < 3% seems to be suited to RWD setups and the < 1% for the AWDs.

White Night should be fine in that regard w/ his current set, and 245/40/19 front w/ 275/35/19 like you mentioned puts him even better than his current set w/ about 0.6 % from OEM.

White Night, those sizes you mentioned w/ the 45/40 sidewall would be over 3% from your OEM diameter, way too much. But you can put your current back tires on the front and get the 275/35/19s for a more aggressive look and almost perfect diameter setup

okay well i probably wont change the tire sizes now cuz they are already on the car. All my concern is the noise i am hearing when i hit 75mph and then at 40-60mph.

found out the problem with the humming noise when i hit highway speeds. It was the tires i ordered. One front tire had uneven tread (guessing from manufacture). So i didnt take the risk of replacing just one tire so the guys at Discount Tire Direct were very helpful and sent me a new set of different tires (Yokohama YK580). After install, drove on the highway for about a .25 mile and didnt hear the loud humming noise. Not saying the tires i had before were awful, i was just unfortunate to experience a bad tire from manufacture.

Avant, any chance you're willing to share some specs?

Particularly interested in tire size, spacer size (and type?) and suspension. Also any tire rubbing, or any other issues for that matter (noise, comforts, ...)?

My impression is you did some very thorough research and the result certainly shows it. Would be very appreciate if you would share your finds. Thanks for the photos also. I'm sure you're very proud of your car

These OEM 19s (the older style, not so much the newer) compliment our cars so well IMO, def not forced to go a/m

Mine is an xS, so even though the rims are staggered, I have the same size tires all around ExtremeContact DWS 245/40.
