I also heard, besides the hybrid setup, they might go with a 2.5 turbo based off the g25.

Is there any chance that the awd models will get a manual trans option?

I'm hoping they standardize the 3.8L from the GTR, but of course non-turbo for the next gen G...

Possibly called G38.

Mass producing 1 engine will drive the cost of manufacturing down and increase profits.
It just makes sense to do so.

Part of the reason why the VR38DETT engine is expenisve is that it's hand built. Theres only so much they can increase capacity by. The whole point is to keep quality up and keep it an exclusive vehicle within Nissan. Sure they could do things to drive down costs but people who buy cars like the GTR are willing to pay a certain premium for exclusiveness.

That would be awesome. Most european cars have that option and the TL has it.

Just heard from a supplier at a telematics conference that the new design for the sedan is slated for 2013. Word is the interior will have the biggest change, sporting two touch screens on the IP - one for the nav/infotainment display and the other for the HVAC/radio controls. Also, the rotary **** will be moved down to just below the gearshift, a la iDrive/MMi. Sounds overcomplicated, but could be cool if executed correctly.

I'm just not a fan of having all touch screen, or even capacitive touch. The SYNC systems for Ford/Lincoln has too many bugs and I'd rather have tradition buttons/*****. Don't want my car to be a big ipad.

^ Exactly, was thinking the same. Pretty lousy that a limited color becomes available to all (excluding G25, Limited Edition and Sport Appearance Edition), at least lousy for those that invested in what they thought was an exclusive color. But, I guess it adds one popular color to the lineup that will make many new buyers happy.

JX preview at Pebble Beach and debut at Los Angeles Auto Show.

No change on 2012 Coupe, I bet 2013 is the new generation.

Malbec Black has been available on the 2011 G in Canada for a year already.
