My G is Hurt!
My car was parked on the street right across to a supermarket. I went to a restaurant for dinner nearby, then went into the supermarket to get some fruits. As I come out, I did not believe what I saw across the street, a minivan was trying to parallel park behind my car, and as it back up it hit the corner of my rear bumper. I ran across the street, took out my phone and without wasting a second, took a picture of his license plate. Then took several more pictures of my damaged car as well as his.
The guy didn't even apologize. He came out to inspected the damage, tried to wipe off his paint off my car with his hand, and went back into his car. While I was taking pictures, I had my wife to call the police.
The guy refused to provide me his car registration and insurance information. In any case, the police took his information and it will be shown on the police report.
Now I have to go through the pain to deal with his insurance.
One of the backup sensor is scratched. I wonder if it has to be replaced. Or if they could just paint over it.

Unfortunately, such self-centered people are with us every day. As for driving habits you can usually spot them when:
They dont use their turn signals
They cruise in the fast lane on freeways
They often take two parking spaces
They flip cigarette butts and other trash out the window

I made a wrong move. I intended to contact my own insurance to inform them about the accident so that they have it on record in case the other guy tries to claim against me. My insurance company now has an open claim case and it looks like I'm trying to claim against them (my own insurance). I should have contacted the guy's insurance and have that settled first before notifying my own insurance company.
Maybe I should clear that up with my own insurance company that I'm not claiming against them and that my intention is to claim against the offender's insurance.
I also wonder how expensive is the repair. Some paint on the backup sensor is chipped off. If they have to repair that part, I assume it could get expensive.
