Thanks man I saw the stealth cord but i didn't like it.. The reason i have a radar is to pick up radar bands.. with that cord its sits to high and i dont want a wire running all the way down my windshield.. The lower the radar is the better it picks up bands and lasers

i pick up everything from where it sits. i still pick up the radar from tolls over a mile away, same goes for cops.

Where did you get that information?
I've been using radar detectors for years and have always been under the impression that the higher the detector is mounted, with a clear view, the further the range.

Mount it high for better radar detection. Mount it low for better laser detection. IMO I'd rather mount it high with the Stealth Cord + Blendmount and get superior radar detection then mount it lower to get moderately better laser detection. Reason being once you get hit by laser you're already toast. But if you get hit by Ka or any other radar, you still have some time to react.

Plus it looks better and more "factory installed" than having something hanging off your windshield. Also you don't have to worry about the radar detector bouncing up and down and falling off your window. And lastly, it's not as noticeable to cops since it's right below your mirror and not in the middle of your windshield.

Just my .02

Read the manual, it clearly states the lower on the windshield it sits the better the detection.

I had to go look at this because I had also read that higher was better for Radar detection.

This is what it says in the manual for the Escort 8500
Where to mount Passport
For optimum detection performance, we
recommend the following:
• Using the Windshield Mount, mount your
Passport level, and high enough on your
front windshield to provide a clear view of
the road from the front and rear.
Mount Passport away from windshield
wipers, other solid objects, and heavily
tinted areas that might obstruct the radar
antenna or laser lens.

The higher the detector sits on the windshield the further it can "see"

^^ Exactly, but your laser detection will be **** because cops typically aim at your front license plate or your headlights. Not that it really matters anyway because once they get you, you're done.

As others have stated, use the stealth wires or buy the wires from the passport site. You can't get away from using the cords or showing cords with the escorts detectors. To go completely stealth you will need the valentine 1 detectors and hide the device in the vents or something.

I ran my cords up the A-Pillar and through the roof-liner, from the ignition. Get a voltage meter and check for a hot wire once the ignition is on but not completely turned on.

I agree mount it low is the best. I did a test with my Neighbor who is a state trooper. When i had the Radar mounted high, right under the rear view mirror with the mikes' mount the detection range gradually decreased. When i moved it back to the lower windshield the detection ranged increased dramatically. We tested KA freqs.
