Unhappy break in attempt of 2009 g37x

I was parked outside in a friends driveway last night with the car properly locked.
When I went to leave all 4 windows were half way down and the trunk was unlatched.

However, nothing was taken (i am 99% sure). There also appears to be no damage. I do not see any scratches. So what is going on? Obviously someone tampered with it. How could the alarm not go off?

I read early cars 2004(??) had the same thing happen by jamming a screwdriver in the keyhole? I don't even see a scratch mark on the key hole

I bet it was not attempted to be broke into. More then likely, you sat on your key fob and were pressing buttons. Holding unlock = windows down. Trunk button = trunk popped. If it was locked then you bumped the lock button again.

/\ This is absolutely 100% the case here.
Thieves don't roll down all four of your windows halfway and also I assume they were all equally lowered right...?
You can lower your windows and pop your trunk with just the key fob.
Gotta be careful about this, it can be a curse imo.

after i wrote my post, i went and tested with the key fob and it is possible and i hope that is what happened. It is certainly something to be aware of. I had key in front jeans pocket in a cluster home. So the I suppose it is possible that walking around the home, sitting etc i could have hit the combination of buttons. It is definitely something to be aware of. Here you think you lock your car and by just doing nearby normal activities you open and close your car unknowningly. Yipes! I don't normaly walk around my house with keys in pocket

But how but this. I found out today that the house 2 doors down was burglarized while the same time i was there at the other house. I heard they ransacked the place but took nothing! BTW this is a very nice suburban neighborhood. Coincidence??!?

Totally coincidence. You're just lucky they didn't come by and see your car half open!

Or kids. Younger kids break into homes and tear them up, bit don't take anything except money or food. Happened frequently when I was in law enforcement.
