would you upgrade to an M37 if the deal was right?

I drove the M37s for a few days as a "loaner" and I agree with the premise of this article...the M is nice but not worth $20k more than the G37s

after looking and reading about the M, yeah the Sport version would be way to go.
and after looking at 15 regional dealerships, only one M Sport was found.
every dealer is overloaded with the AWD model of the M.
what gives? is the Japan quake the cause of the lack of Sport Ms?
and I cannot see how the M and G can deliver the same performance times with the M weighing as much as it does.

Personally I'm looking at getting a M56S after the lease is up on my G next October.
When compared to the BMW 550i and Mercedes E550 it's just a better deal.

I really like the M's and wouldn't mind having one if not at least to give my kiddo's more legroom (Toddler's + car seats = very little legroom for the fella's). I'm just balancing how much longer we can keep at this before they can transfer to booster seats, which will reclaim some legroom for them.

No.
One of the reasons I went with the G was that the size of the vehicle suited me, plus of course the performance, contents, looks and handling.
I consider the G37,IMHO, a lot of car for the price.
I don't consider the M37 to be that great a deal, for what you get for the money.

Does the 2011 M37X or XS use the same 7 AT !!! If so, Uh Oh, wait till you feel the hesitation and lagging like so, so , many of us have posted on the Tranny Issues Threads - even with the TSB ECU/TCM "Update"... To me , notwithstanding that you will get worse MPGs with the M because of the added weight, the performance issue would be the real deciding factor. I do like the larger size, the nicer interior, the heated/cooled seats, not so much the looks - to me it looks like a larger G - but if it does perform with less hesitation - more response than my 2010 G37X, I would strongly consider trading up. I did not drive one when I leased my 2010 G37X in June 2010. In fact, I have been corresponding with Infiniti of NA and the Service Manager of my dealership about the performance issues around this 7 AT. I have been entertaining - swapping my lease for a CPO 2009 M35X with low mileage.

Since I haven't bought a G37 sedan yet, and am still considering other 4-door options, I also am considering one price tier up (which includes M37) and one above that (which includes M56).
I don't feel the M37 or the M56, when compared to other makes/models in their price class *including options*, stand out as much as the G37 in its price class and including options.
The G37 configuration I'd want puts it in the $42-45k price class (MSRP with options). If I end up going with the $55-60k (MSRP w/ options) class, the M37 won't be my first choice (though final out-the-door deals could affect that choice), but might be second. An M56, in the $70-75k MSRP with options class, also not top of my list.

The most important thing to consider in my view is the current G is on its way out in a year or two, the M37 and 5 series are all new, I would not consider the G at this stage of its life cycle.

Quite recently my family of 4 had to take a 8-9 hour road trip. Between the G37S and the Honda Odyssey the minivan was the only choice.
I love my G but it doesn't have the room for adult passengers. Heck, even my 6 year old has trouble fitting behind me when I drive. If it was an M I might have taken it for the road trip.
To answer the answer directly, it better be a huge deal because like others have said I don't see the value in Ms anymore. Similarly equipped, they cost almost the same as BMWs and I can get the 5er with a stick which for me is a big deal and I'll be willing to pay even more to get it.
So yeah, it depends on the deal.

5/1/2011.... best quarter mile so far: 13.7
weight w/ my fat *** in it:
very impressed with the M on the track... handling wise you feel the wider stance and weigh compared w/ my G sedan but I can fit 4 adults in the M37, head to the track, and drive home all comfortable.
and yes not many M37sports.... I have a few in stock because supply and demand .... people who want it know where to find them.
