As recently as 2010 the V8 Mustang only produced 315 hp. The V6 was at 210. Not until 2011 did they really start to put their money where their mouth is.
305 hp for the new V6 and 412 for the new V8. I drove the 2011 GT, because that 412 hp almost had me convinced to buy one... I wasn't impressed with the power or the fit/finish.
A coworker has the V6 Camaro. Meh.

There are a millnion excuses that they will give you. In the end it comes down to Canadians are used to historically paying higher prices so there's no incentive for manufacturers to lower them.

Honestly, the more cars I drive (friends's ES 350, Camaro SS , Mustang GT), the more I am convinced that the G37 reigns supreme. It has the right mix of power, handling and luxury. The Camaro SS with 400+ horses, was accelerating equal to or very marginally better than the G at RPM over 2500. Under 2500 the SS was like a Ford Focus. The V8 sounded burly though!
When I got my first real car - I thought it( 2001 BMW 325i steptronic/moonroof/Xenon ) was the ultimate. The 2010 G37 sedan (I paid $1500 more than the bimmer - after 10 years!) has almost every option and drives phenomenally better with lower maintenance worries...
Good job Infiniti... More power to all the G enthusiasts here..

That being said I will agree that the G offers a great balance of performance and luxury at a reasonable price.

So let me get this straight, the Camaro SS accelerates like a Ford Focus under 2500 RPM and equally or very marginally better than a G above 2500 RPM? Either you had a lemon Camaro or you letting your fanboyhood get the better of you. The Camaro accelerates to 60 mph almost a full second quicker than the G.
