License Plate Fees

Hey guys, just finishing up my second month of owning my new G, and I just got back from getting my plates at the DMV, and was shocked at how much I had to pay. I expected it to be high, but not this high.

$913 is what I just paid for plates. Anyone else have ridiculous high fees like this? I'm in Denver, CO.

Are you also in California? Read the itemized list of what your registration entails. Most likely a lot of the cost has to do with new car registration. In CA, the annual registration cost for a G37 sedan should be about $350-$400.

Nope, not in California. Denver, Colorado. Keep in mind, next year it will probably go down to about $650, but this first year registration cost is ridiculous!

I also live in the Front Range area and your first year registration costs probably include other fees like title transfer and taxes. The costs go down significantly after the first year.
