Change log / model year differences

Long time lurker, first time poster, and I did do a search .

I am in the market for a new to me car to replace my POS 2003 Saab 93. (NEVER BUY A SAAB!!), anyway... I am trying to figure out what the differences are between the 09 and the 10 G37. I am most likely looking at a Journey trim w/ premium package, but am not set in stone if that makes a difference.

From reading the forum I see that the gauge cluster has changed and the readout screen is now white, not orange. I have also read there were some minor cosmetic front end changes from 09 to 10 but have not been able to nail down what they are or find good pictures of the differences. I think I also read bluetooth is standard in 10 and an option in 09.

What else do I need to take in consideration between these model years?

I am very excited!!! Going test driving tonight!!

Thanks in advance

The 09 to 10 transition was probably the largest change in the V36 sedan. there is the revised grill and who front fascia.

This is 09

This is 2010

The change is relatively bigger (for a cosmetic refresh) and it looks much more aggressive (especially in person).

The interior has also changed. The center console looks MUCH more upscale if you're getting an automatic. I have a 6MT and that looks the same as the 07-09 6MT, though, the 6MT Instrument panel always looked a little better near the ash try.

The navigation has a higher resolution screen and now we have a USB port instead of a dedicated iPod port and an AV input. So the advantage to USB is that you can connect any USB storage device OR an iPod and it functions well. Only disadvantage is that we lose the AV input.

Some have said the voice prompts on the older system are a little better and I think there are more functions, but overall i think the nav has been improved slightly, nothwithstanding the subtracted AV inputs and less voice input.

Oh, the 2009 and 2011 have "scratch shield" paint and the 2010 does not. I've heard scratch shield paint only lasts a few years though so I would base my decision more on the quality of the paint on the car you see directly.

I think the Burr Brown DAC (very high quality audio digital to analog converter) has been deleted from 2010 on. Not a huge deal, but I was a little disappointed since I have audiophilia in my blood. There is also no six disc changer (not sure if the 09 does either)

What he said. And seriously huge difference in the center consol on the 10 vs 09...09 looks like it is from a Honda and the 10 looks alot more upscale.

I have an '09 and love it. Take a look at my garage, or find my picture thread in the G37 Sedan Media share section.
