Surfjax,

Hows the paint on the Invidia holding up? I'm thinking about painting mime too.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I've had mine since February, and have driven through gravel roads frequently.

The paint is holding up just fine, i check on it quite frequently, especially these days with so many projects in the works -- so much so i think i have the car practically on jack stands all weekend.

Thanks,
Mine's still going great. Plenty of car washes and about 2000 miles on it so far.

I was told it was closer to 45ish. But I can't be certain of that

Ok, time for an update after over a year of having it installed. Still loving the sound, nice and quiet when cruising, but enough growl under acceleration. I get compliments on the sound and look quite a bit. Absolutely no drone, definitely a plus when I made a 1000 mile trip a while back. My paint is holding up great, only a few chips on the underside of the cans from what I guess were rocks picked up by the rear tires. No chips on the visible back of the cans. Tips need to be cleaned/polished so I'll probably take them off soon to do so.

Only gripe I have is with what I think is some metal on metal contact somewhere along the catback. Sounds like a rapid rattle or buzzing. I don't think it's a bad/shot resonator because I looked inside them when I had the y pipe(s) off to clean a plastic bag off and did a tap test with my palm. No loose metal found. I don't think it's rasp since it doesn't happen all the time and went away for a while after reinstalling the y pipe(s) after cleaning the plastic bag off and also after disconnecting the rear section when installing my sway bars. Plus all videos I've seen, and mine, don't have any rasp after Invidia added resonators and the updated X pipe. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Overall I would give it a 9/10. Excellent quality and price, great looks, but that rattle/buzz keeps it from being perfect.

Thanks for the update. Mine is still en route. Should be an interesting saturday morning install (on my back). Fortunately the car is only 6 months old, so fasteners should be in good shape. Will post my 2¢ worth after a few hundred miles.

I installed mine with only ramps. Wasn't too bad. Worst fasteners were the bolts at the cats.

Figures. I thought about putting antiseize on those, but given the high temps, doubt it'll make much difference for future removal.

Check the heat shields, it doesn't take much for them to bend and start rattling against the exhaust system. Mine did this after the install, i just got under there and pulled it back. You *might* be able to reach in and do the same without lifting the car up.

p.s. Had the painted-can Invidia's for 17 months now myself, nothing but good things.

I bent them a little, but I guess not enough. I was thinking of taking off the heat shield right above the resonators and x pipe to see if the noise stops, then try to bend it better and reinstall.

Your install made my decision to paint mine.

Do the chrome mufflers look that unsightly?

I think having a little bit of chrome would be quite sightly.

It's personal preference. I think it can look good either way, but I wanted more of an oem look.
