Every time this happens, I expect to see environmentalists dancing in the streets. The spike in gas prices is pushing the green agenda HARD. I have nothing against hybrids or increases in fuel efficiency, but we're kidding ourselves if we don't see that there is a political win behind all of this.

What cracks me up is that it takes weeks for oil to become gas, but a crisis = overnight increases. It's all psychological market BS. The argument I've heard for the instant increase is that gas stations set prices for what the next delivery will cost. So remember kids, gas prices are based on big guesses.

there is no way gas prices will hit 6 bucks a gallon not in this crappy economy...it hasent changed my driving habits one bit..it beats my old truck any day when it was 8 miles to the gallon and 100 dollar + fill up every 4 days..

Wow, it really sucks to be you guys. I guess Denver is the cheapest metro area in the nation right now. Just paid $3.44 yesterday for premium. Only $3.20 for regular.

The G gets better mileage than my old car, so I don't care. My regular drive to/from work yields about 15-17mpg with the mix of slow a$$ stop and go with some highway. I ride my motorcycle in the summer, every single day I possibly can.

Driving the wife's Civic LX this week since she has been off on maternity leave, gotta love 30mpg+ and running the cheap stuff. Toss it around some corners for fun, but man it has no power. Paid $3.52 for regular. I haven't filled the G in a few weeks.

There's that, and there's also the fact that it would take like 13 years to break even, depending on driving habits. Tesla is still a status car - nothing practical about it.

3.69 a gallon, the G has been a driveway queen lately. The one thing I really can't complain about is the fact that on the highway these cars really don't get that bad of mileage. With all my mods and my heavy foot I'll still average 25 - 26mpg around 70MPH.
