2011 G25 idle vibration

2 months old G25 with 1800 miles on it. Having problem with idle slight vibration at idle in drive. Felt through steering column, floor boards and seats. Even passengers in rear seat commented about this. If I put my hand on top of steering wheel column, I can feel it even stronger. RPM are solid around 650, A/C is on (turning it off makes it vibarate a little less, and rpm go up to around 750). In park, it almost goes away. Any other G25 owners with similar problems?

You might have a problem with a motor mount.

There's obviously something wrong with your engine. It's supposed to have 3.7 liters, but you only have 2.5.

I'm just playing.

i have no idea what the g25 engine's like but if you're feeling the vibrations throughout your car, then it more than likely has to deal with your motor mounts. i haven't been able to find the mounts on the infiniti, but it's possible that if you peak around, you might be able to find it. could be leaking. either way, dealer visit.

Take it to the dealer. It might be something easy to fix.

Because both of your front, and one of your two rear, motor mounts are liquid filled, therefore if damaged or defective they can leak.

Small engines tend vibrate more than larger engines.

Interesting. I grew up a mechanic and this is the first I've heard of liquid filled motor mounts. Must be "new age". For me it was always rubber/poly or solid.

Test Drive another G25

I would take your car to the dealership and ask the service manager to drive a G25 demo and see if it does the same thing.. might be "normal" for the G25.

It's better that you feel the same vibration in another G25 on the lot rather than just hearing "it's normal" from the service manager.

When I was younger I drove a VW Passat that did the exact same thing - it was completely normal for the model - vibration at stop/idle that disappeared in park. There was a technical explanation for it that made sense. I wonder if the G25 has that to. You'll get used to it

So in other words the 2.5 is just as crappy as the 3.7 in this manner. It is disappointing, but get used to it. The G is no Lexus or Acura in the smoothness department.
