2010 G37 Sedan Type S or Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec??

Ok let me break this down:
My uncle wants to buy a 5 series bmw so he said he'll let me take over his payments on g37. so far 24k left(535 a month) out of total 40k.

Used 2010 G37 Sedan Type S
-Sports Package
-Navi
12,000 Miles
2 Accidents:
-Back Bumper needed to be replaced due to someone ramming from the back.
-lost control and ran over some concrete(no idea how..) but anyways Alignment got ****ed up, front bumper replaced, and suspension ****ed up. So he spent 3k to fix it and says its in good condition now.

but since I live about 2000 miles away I have to make a choice without even test driving the car. Its either I fly over and drive it back or I can just get a brand new 3.8 Rspec..
and I estimate monthly payment will be around 400$ a month and insurance a lot lower. and my uncle likes to mess around a lot so I'm supposing hes already done stupid **** like donuts and racing every weekend..

any suggestions? I have around 8k saved up.

Why don't you buy a used 37 coupe? Put that 8k down on a 25k car with low miles?

not to beat a dead horse, but g37 > genesis. G37 is a bit more expensive, but i feel is a better quality all around. The genesis has good options and offer many different engine configurations (sport package includes brembo brakes ect).

I agree with doggy, get a g37s coupe, looks evo at evo X GSR or an STI depending what your looking for. All 3 of these cars are a better buy then a Genesis imo

at the end of the day, you'll feel much better driving a G37 then a hyundai. plain and simple.

I'd go for the new Genesis. That way there will be no surprises. Hard telling what else your uncle might have screwed up on the G.

I know this is an infiniti forum, but I have to agree with everyone. The hyundai is just a cheap rip-off of the G. They are in a completely different class.

G is faster, more luxurious, and much more respected.

I wish he would not call the G "Type S." He hit the car and messed up alignment and suspension? Dude! Can you see there's chassis damage here? Skip this car at all costs! Just my two cents.

+999999999... POS fit and finish

And an FYI for OP, it's S for sport package/model, this is not a Honda/Acura, type-S doesn't exists

It's pretty interesting that the Genesis Sedan is quite nice, refined, quiet and the fit & finish is pretty damn good. The Genesis Coupe looks like a small step up from the old Tiburon, and I've never seen so much cheap looking plastic in a vehichle that's supposed to be compared and cross-shopped w/ our Infinitis. If they can get the coupe in the same league as the sedan then the discussion would be interesting, as of now the G is clearly much better.

I would definitely avoid that car from your uncle. It is not a "Type S". Any Infiniti/Nissan fan knows that there's no "Type S" in that company's cars. The only special editions are "SE-R" and "Spec V/V Spec".
