2010 G37 Sedan Type S or Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec??

I would definitely say no to your uncle's G37, especially if you can't drive it and get it checked out by a trusted mechanic. As far as alternatives, I'd look at another G37, sedan or coupe, and take a look at the Genesis coupe. Maybe the interior will be up to your standards. IMO, while not as good as the G's, the Genesis has a decent interior. Of course a few of the fanboys on here will tell you differently. You have that on any car site.

IMO, I agree. Do NOT buy the uncle- abused G. It is a bad deal all the way around. However, personally I don't mind the genesis coupe. Its interior is okay, newer versions have better transmissions and slightly more power than older, and it can be a fun car to drive. Hyundai is no longer a POS maker. The fanbois either haven't driven or been inside one for a couple years, or they are so biased that this becoming reminiscent of readin a BMW or Mercedes forum. Interior is not as nice, it. Is still very nice compared to others in the price segment. In fact R & T or C & D has a G coupe/G37 coupe head to head from q year back or so that has the Genesis winning because of the price/value to features and performance ratio heavy skewed towards the Genesis - that is, for around 28k you could buy a brand new sports coupe that did everything at 90% or better In relation to the G37. At 15k less.
I find ironic that the owners here would bash the genesis for being what it is - a cheaper car that offers a better value proposition just like the G37 offers a better value proposition in relation to Audi, Mercedes and BMW. I can't believe they are engaging in badge snobbery.

thanks for the suggestions!
anyways, at the moment I'm leaning towards the g37.. because its exterior design is so damn sexy its making me delusional.. and the stupid badge factor plays a role too..
and also I'm close with my uncle so he said he doesn't mind if I sell it or trade it.. he just knows I always wanted a g37 so If I do take it I can make about 3k minimum profit and sell it up to 31k depending on who I sell it too...
I also found out that the 2012 Genesis Coupe is getting a facelift and also comes with a 3.8 Direct Injection so itl have about 335 hp!! so buying a brand new 2011 3.8 right now would be such a rip off when I can wait about 8 months for a 2012 or 6+ months for a really good deal on the 2011 models..
but anyways, even if the suspension is not that great can't i just get brand new coilovers or whatever aftermarket that will improve its performance?
If I were to get a brand new car i'd have to put at LEAST 6 thousand down.. but if I get this g37 all I need to do is save the 8k I have and pay it off slowly and plus I work enough hours to easily pay 535 a month. My parents will pay for insurance.
is there a lot of good aftermarket parts for the g37 SEDAN???
sorry for my noob questions

I would pass on the Uncle's car and wouldn't even look at the Genesis. Buy a CPO Infiniti Coupe, you will be much happier. Hard to compare buying a sedan vs a coupe anyways, if your thinking a coupe go with a G37S, btw there is no Type S, just stands for Sport.

even If I were to buy brand new suspension and whatever that needs to be replaced? like new coilovers and maybe check up the frame or w.e needs to be tweaked?

You don't want to own someone else's problem, especially if a problem already exists. I would just get a CPO Coupe and call it a day.

fuccck.. Like I said haha.. just looking at your damn profile pic the g37 looks so sexy that I just want it!!!!! haha..ugh.. idk.. ima try to find out how bad the problem is.. my uncle says its all fixed and good but ah! haha

If your stuck on buying the G, have it looked at by a mechanic, first.

If the car was professionally repaired and has otherwise been well cared for the G would be a heck of a deal. Get the ID# and check Carfax to see if the damage is listed. If not, and its been well repaired, it won't necessarily even affect future resale. If your uncle is trustworthy; it sounds like he is trying to make you a very good deal...selling it for wholesale. Its obviously is a G37S. Does your uncle normally take good care of his cars?

He said it was 2000 miles away, not across town. Yes that's cheap, but not necessarily if it's had as much damage as he stated. And it's Genesis, not Genius, genius.

@Jayhawk815 Actually, your views were a nice compliment to mine. I didn't consider that someone would spend $24+K for a car, yet couldn’t afford to travel 2,000 miles, hire a mechanic or trust relatives. I bow to your opinions.

What a waste of a thread - you're not going to get decent opinions on this thread, because we all obviously CHOSE the G or we wouldn't be here. Post the same question on a Hyundai forum, and watch the responses, which will be the polar opposite of these.
Buying damaged goods for the sake of a badge is a bad idea, but it's your $$.
