Next redesign?
When is the next G37 redesign scheduled? Not sure if that is even the correct term. When does the current model type run get redone with a new body style. Best I've found is a vague 2012. Anyone have anything solid on when this might happen?

The next one should be a bigger change since the v35 to v36 was a relatively minor change.
Knowing this, I'd say late 2012 as a 2013 model at the earliest. We haven't seen or heard anything about testing or spy shots.
I don't expect anything later than 2013 as a 2014 model as BMW will be releasing their 3 new series soon.

I'd expect that we start to see the sedan pix in 1st quarter to 2nd quarter '11 for the '12model. The sedan has been the same since '07 MY other than the 3.7L upgrade and the refresh in 2010, so it's about time for a re-do. It's selling well, so they may be able to delay it a bit longer, but my automotive mind says no.
07-11 MY Sedan. New sedan for 2012 MY
08-12 MY Coupe. New Coupe for 2013 MY
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

That's ezzzactly' why I'm asking. I got to watch the next year model of my Max come out right after I got it and I liked the new one a lot more. A whole lot more! I love the classic lines on the current g37 and haven't bought just yet. Will the next one be even better? Maybe that lease idea isn't so bad after all.... hmmmm

That's why you get much better deals on late generation cars. Also, the later ones are always a little improved to work out kinks, so the prices really don't change that much.
I really hope the next car is a real new model with a rear seat fold down and a good DCT so the wife and I can both be happy. She wasn't thrilled that I got the 6mt.

I agree.
It will be MY2013 at the very least.
The new 3 series has not been shown at any of the Motor Shows and the G has historically come after the 3er. Just watch out for when the new 3 comes out and the G will not be too far behind, a year at most.
And while on the subject

Has nothing to do with a 3 series. The current G is long in tooth. Were on our 5th Model Year! The new car is in the wings.
Altima too. That car also came out in 2007 and was updated for 2010. Now the 2011 Altimas are running around with "Special Edition" badges on them...same as they did in 2006 before the next gen debuted for 2007.
