2009 G37 Sedan... Cold Start-up Engine Stalling...
Hi guys,
I own 2009 G37 Sedan 7AT.
During the cold start-up RPM goes up to 2k and drops down to 0 and stalls.
It happened few times already and NO engine check light so I can't take it to the dealer.
Just filled up Fuel injector cleaner and it's still doing this.
Anyone with same problem? fix?
Thanks.

doesn't matter if there's no check engine light....I'd take it to the dealer. bummer is that they'll give you the "we need to replicate the issue" crap & that'll be tough if it doesn't happen all the time....also pretty tough for them to give you a hassle since it's completely stalling out. Yep, go to the dealer...

Yea my 08 Coupe has started doing this in the last month, and this month hasn't even been the coldest of the winter. Not really sure whats happening myself, did the same thing with the fuel injector cleaner and nothing. Just i'd say once out of every 15 times im start it up...blub blub dead! Not my battery-been replaced...but i better get to the dealer cuz im pressin 57k miles, almost no more warranty

Mine did this last night for the first time....pushed the start button...it started and then died. Started fine after the 5th try and since.
I don't think going to the dealer is wise yet...can anyone point me in the right direction...Thanks??

I purchased a certified pre-owned 2009 G37x sedan about 3.5 months ago. I had a similar start & stall incident occur 3 times. Similar except that all 3 times the engine was slightly warm--roughly 1/2 hour after being driven. On start it revved to 1500, then tried to drop to the normal "warm" idle speed, but died instead.
Giving it a little kick of gas prevented the engine from dying on restarts.
The car's due for routine service, and this is on the list for them to check out. My question, how did your dealer/mechanic determine there you had a throttle body issue?
Thanks.

I had similar issues. During start (not a cold start) the rpm drops to zero thus installing the car. On the second try car started fine. Also when idling at a red light, the rpm will drop to about 500 from 750ish thus creating a noticeable vibration.
I cleaned my throttle bodies a couple weeks ago. I am happy to report that I haven't seen those issues since then.

I had a similar issue with my previous sedan -- but it was a fuel issue after parting out the car completely, and setting the map to 'stock'. I'd image that for a completely stock car -- throttle bodies, maf (although it would still turn over), plugs or injectors. g'luck!
