New air filters,OEM or other?

Going in for an oil change tomorrow and I know that they will say I need new air filters. The car has 26k on it,but I've taken them out and knocked any debris that was on the surface out.
Probably a good time to get new ones,so which do you advise, stock from the dealership or aftermarket?

Any brands better? I know they don't advise K+N,as they claim the oil can damage the O2 sensors?

It depends if you want a reusable filter or not. I'd recommend the AFE Dry Flow S filters if you want a safe reusable alternative to the stock papers, plus they supposedly flow better. Check my thread on them: https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-...in-filter.html

These are reusable and dry?
Who's the supplier and how do they compare in price to stock?

Thanks for your input

Yup they are reusable and dry - no oiling. There's several online retailers that sell the filters, I used partstrain.com w/ coupon code. They aren't cheap but worth it over the long haul if you plan on keeping the car for a while.

Don't recommend K&N? Hogwash. The Jim Wolf filters are damn near identical to K&N. One is red, one is blue.

I had the JWI on my 04 G35 for 70k of it's 80k miles (when I traded it) and never had an issue. I wouldn't shy away from K&N or JW... they both provide better air flow, IMO. Afterall... more O2 = more HP.

Already have the Jim Wolf dual popchargers on my '11 G37 and ain't even hit 3k yet.

You may be referring to damaging the MAF sensors (O2 sensors are located in the exhaust system after combustion has occured). The only problem with K&N filters is some owners will over oil them, causing excess oil to be blown back onto the MAF sensors and fouling them. I'm not aware of any official Infiniti tech bulletins which preclude the use of K&N air filters.

You can also try HKS drop in filters.

I'm using Wix filters. They've done a fine job. I pick them up at my local auto-parts store.

I've had K&N on all my previous cars. Never had a problem with it. Problem only occur when owner cleans them and over oil the filter.

I've got the HKS filters & they work fine......Can't really go wrong with HKS, AFE, JW, K&N, etc.... Just pick a higher flowing filter than stock & go with it.

if you want reuseable filters with no oil, i suggest the HKS filter. if not, just a standard wix filter should do.

Thanks for linking your previous filter discussion, but Partstrain.com doesn't show AFE filters.
Know anyone else carrying them?( do you remember what they cost?)
Thanks again

I'm going to rock the AFE dry flows when I hit 30k. I just received free Nissan filters from a buddy. So when these go out, it'll be time.

I was going to buy them today, but asking price was $225 all in for the pair.I bought 2 oem for $44 all in.
If my math is correct,we're looking at 5 years to break even, not including the cleaning kit and my time and efforts.
