So I tracked my G37S sedan today and I have one gripe. If the ECU knows to go on a limp mode when the oil tempurature rises, why can't it just show/display the tempurature somewhere!?!?

Because like every other car, a digital temperature readout would be unnecessary and extraneous on a simple, minimal gauge cluster. If you wanna track your car, go buy an oil temperature gauge. This isn't a high performance street legal sports car. This is a sports sedan that is meant for spirited driving. If you want to track it, awesome, one day I wouldn't mind doing that either, but I really do not need to know anything more than the standard temperature dial that is on the gauge cluster. You should watch that if you're racing.

That is pretty cool.

Those of you guys that doesn't understand the goodness of a simple oil tempurature guage must not know the heritage that the Skyline name carries. I expect and demand a little more if they are going to use that name.

Anyhow, it's just a grip. Don't take it too seriously folks. I still love the way the car feels on the freeway.

There was obviously a big shift in the Skyline beginning with the V series. At the same time, were non-GT-R versions of previous Skylines really that sporty?

FWIW, I'm with you. I don't think a vehicle needs to be a tracked sports car to need and benefit from an oil temp gauge. The simple reason it doesn't have one is cost cutting at the corporate level to meet a desired price point. You and I wouldn't blink at paying an extra $100 on the sticker price for it but the average driver wouldn't care and would rather just pay less for the car.

Excuse me, maybe I'm not getting it, but what is the little temp gauge on the bottom left? That's an oil temp gauge! It's obviously not as accurate as having actual temp readouts, but how is anything more necessary? You just have to keep the needle at the middle or it's not at optimal temps.
